Sgt. Michael Toussiant-Hyle Washington, thank you from a grateful nation for your sacrifice you are a true American HERO and May God Bless all your family and friends in this time of sorrow.
SOLDIER I was that which others did not want to be. I went where others Feared to go, and did what others Failed to do. I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness… should I fail. I have seen the Face of terror; Felt the stinging cold of Fear; and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moments love. I have cried, Pained, and Hoped… but most of all, I have lived times others would say were best Forgotten. At least someday I will be able to say that I was proud of what I was… a Soldier.
Soldiers Creed I am an American Soldier. I am a Warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United States And live the Army Values.

To the family and friends of this young Hero, I offer my condolences. May your bereavement soon pass.
I take it a little more personal when a fellow Marine has been lost in war.
My regrets to my fellow Patriot Guard Riders. I cannot attend this mission, as I will be in Asotin interring my Mother's remains. I will ride with you in spirit.

Sgt. Michael T. Washington Mission Report 6-19-2008 and 6-27-2008
6-19-2008 (Thurs.) Phase One of Two:
Staging was @1000 hrs. Behind Eagle Leather, (this company allows PGR to stage for a lot of missions). I was joined by around 25 bikes, 4 cages and 2 Lakewood P.D. 1030 was ride briefing, including the Lakewood P.D. 1100 hrs. The escort team was kickstands up. (The escort team consisted of 8 USMC MC’s, 3 family members all on bikes, myself and 9 other PGR members) When we arrived at Mc Chord AFB, the CACO, Funeral director, and the director for Public Affairs met us at the gate for the AFB. The director issued out passes for all the escort team, and by 1230 hrs. We were in place at the terminal to receive Sgt. Washington and his family. 1300 hrs. We had wheels down, (this was a sight as Sgt. Washington’s flight was escorted by 4 fighters from the AFB); ride plans were changed again for about the 3rd time (this where once again Semper Gumby comes into play, it’s about the family and the hero) and Media circus began. This young Marine (who was 3rd generation, really got a hero’s welcome home in my opinion). The MP’s escorted us off base from, the AFB. As we exited the main gate were picked up by the 3 family members and the USMCMC, who fell in behind myself, my second, and in front of the coach. Lakewood P.D. picked us up on the entrance to I-5 North along with the Fire Dept. As we traveled North to 512 we were joined by more Lakewood P.D. on bikes who escorted us to the funeral home in Auburn. Overhead you could hear and a News chopper covering the escort. Every over pass along 512,167, and Highway 18 had Fire Dept and LEO, saluting as we went under. Upon our arrival to 18,Auburn P.D. had the freeway shutdown, for our arrival. We continued to the off ramp, where once again, Lakewood P.D. and Auburn P.D. had everything shut down. On our arrival to the funeral home the flag line covered the sidewalk from stop light to stop sign, in front Of the funeral home and up both sides of the driveway. We fell in with the flag line and Fire Dept. while Sgt. Washington was removed from the coach to his temporary resting place until the day of the service. PGR was stood down, thanks were given to and received, we mounted up and headed for our homes, waiting for the 2nd phase to start.
Week of Phase 2:
My self and the R/C for the flag line met with the CACO, funeral director, and the Fire Fighters in charge of the processions 2 times prior to the mission. We covered all aspects from the placing of the flag line, To who was sitting where in the church (which didn’t pertain to the PGR, but out of common courtesy, we listened).
6-27-2008 (Friday) Phase 2:
0800 Hrs. staging for the last portion of this mission, at a Chevron station that is used occasionally, because of close access to the freeway, fuel, restrooms, food and beverages. We had 10 bikes and 12 riders. 0815 short ride brief to cover route and designate the sweepers for this portion of the mission. 0830 hrs. K/U and we were rolling. 0845 hrs. We arrived at Klontz Funeral home, where we were met by 8 USM MC’s 3 Auburn P.D. and 5 Olympic Escort. 0900 hrs. Presentation to the family of the Plaque, along with Challenge Coins to the parents, and sister. The sister and granddaughter were also presented with PGR Teddy Bears, (these were created by our asst. Support Vehicle Coordinator for Washington State. Teddy bears with leather vests with a PGR emblem sewn on the back). 0930 hrs. Procession was formed up and we were rolling. USMC MC in front riding missing man formation. (The lead USM MC bike is also the District Captain for that County, so that worked out quite well). 0955 hrs. We arrived at the church for the service, where once again there was LEO in the center of the Highway rendering honors as we passed. The flag line, lined the street in front of the church, and 2 rows, on each side of the drive, at the main door where Sgt. Washington was to be taken through. The other entrances to the church had the USMC service flag placed along with POW/MIA. Each entrance to the church parking lot had National Flags on both sides. As we entered the parking lot, escort bikes left the processions, and 20 bag pipers and drummers walked the coach and family to the main entrance. The escort dismounted bikes and once again joined flag line to render honors while Sgt. Washington was removed from the coach and taken into the church. Now for the hurry up and wait portion.2 hr. stand down for the service. PGR members from the flag line disbursed for the last leg of the mission at Tahoma National Cemetery. Escort team stood down, associating with LEO from Seattle, Federal Way, King County Sheriff dept., and the Fire Dept. 1200 hrs. Sgt. Washington was placed back into the coach, honors were once again given, and the procession was lined up, (totaling, 18 bikes, 4 Federal Way P.D. and over 80 cages, along with 8 bikes from the Olympic Escort Service). 1215 hrs. And we were rolling for the last leg of the mission to Tahoma National Cemetery. As we traveled the side streets, and freeways, P.D. from all the different cities, counties and Fire Depts met the procession. Not to mention numerous State Patrol, all-saluting as the procession passed. They lined streets, over passes, middle turn lanes, blocking on ramps as the procession passed. 1305 hrs. The procession arrived at Tahoma where we were met by P.D. And Fire Dept. from the city, county. We traveled right to the shelter; the flag line lined both sides of the road, (riding through the flag line is always an experience that seems to bring a lump to my throat). We dismounted, formed up, and stood out side the Shelter and gave honors and showed our respect. Once Sgt. Washington was removed from the coach and the family and friends were gathered, the flag line quietly, moved from the road to the Shelter. 1400 hrs. Flag line was stood down, debrief was given, and PGR was stood down from the mission.
This is the largest mission I have led, and had to coordinate since becoming the State Captain for Washington State, and I could never have accomplished it if it were not for the help and dedication of the membership in the State Washington. Once again they gave there all in Honoring and showing Respect to Sgt. Washington, his family and friends. Mission Complete. Cowboy Washington State Captain PGR
