Sgt Robert (Bob) McNair departed Iraq on June 10th.  We would like to surprise him at KCI at a time to be determined.  He is tentatively scheduled to arrive in KCI on Monday, June 16th and we will get you the staging and arrival times as soon as available.

Sgt McNair is not from this area and although his family is trying to get here for his homecoming, they are hoping we will be able to make sure that someone is able to greet their son when he arrives.  If there is prestaging in the Leavenworth area for this mission, please post so people coming from his hometown in Nebraska may join you on their way down.

Staging will be at KCI security.  After his arrival, PGR will escort Sgt McNair to the Sonic parking lot in Leavenworth, where he would probably like to take the opportunity to thank everyone before going to his house, which is on base.  PGR will not be going on base.

Mechanic will be the Deputy Ride Captain for this mission.

Thank you for your service!

Thank you to all who supported the ride and to those who have welcomed Bob home in this thread. The Patriot Guard Riders have indeed made this a special day for Robet McNair and his family.

This is a note from Bob's dad extending his comments to the Patriot Guard Family:

This is from Bob’s dad:

“To the PGR,

It is indeed rare when a person of my age can actually say they have had an experience that will rank in the top ten of their lifetime. Today I did at KCI (Kansas City International Airport) thanks to the PGR and the escort and greeting they provided for my son returning from Iraq. Sometimes the simplest approach is best and that is a sincere "Thank You."

Rick McNair and the McNair family, especially SFC. Robert McNair, US Army."
