Bonnie C. Stevens
SALTILLO - Bonnie C. Stevens, 82, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Community Hospice in Verona after a sudden illness. He was born May 15, 1926, to Littleton and Ida Wilson Stevens. A World War II veteran, he served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and earned two Bronze Stars.

He was very proud of his military accomplishments and enjoyed talking about the medals he earned. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed working in the yard. He was a member of Oak Hill Methodist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lee Memorial Chapel with Donny Riley officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Prayer at Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Stevens of Saltillo and Tim Stevens (Tina) of Guntown; two daughters, Dianne Tackett (Ted) of Auburn and Tonya Johnston (Anthony) of Mooreville; two brothers, Milborn Stevens (Doris) of Pontotoc and L.G. Stevens (Terrell) of Shannon; three sisters, Doris Bowen of Nettleton, Jennett Harris of Booneville and Sue McMillin (Harry) of Illinois; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Merle Ritter.

Pallbearers will be family members

Subject: Short Notice PFC B. C. Stevens Mission The family of PFC B. C. Stevens is asking for the PGR to assist in honoring Mr. Stevens on Friday (June 13th) at Lee Memorial Funeral Home in Verona, Ms. Services start at 11am. Graveside services will be at Lee Memorial Park which is at the same location as the funeral home. Staging: Staging in Lee Memorial Funeral Home rear parking lot at 9:30 am. If you are coming from the south on Hwy 45 take the Brewer Rd Exit and go West over to Old Hwy 45 (Hwy 145), the funeral home will be about 1 1/4 miles north of Brewer Rd on the west side of Hwy 145. If you are coming from the north, take the Verona Exit and go west to Old Hwy 45 (Hwy 145) and turn south on Hwy 145, funeral home will be 1 mile south on the west side of Hwy 145.
