THIS IS A FINAL MISSION PLAN

PFC Ross McGinnis was killed Dec. 4, 2006, in Iraq when he smothered a grenade with his body, will receive the Medal of Honor during a ceremony June 2 at the White House. The Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest award for valor, will be presented to McGinnis’ family. McGinnis also will be honored at the Pentagon on June 3, and a new marker for his grave at Arlington National Cemetery will be unveiled June 4.

PGR has been invited by the family to participate in the unveiling ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) on June 4, where we will provide an escort for the family and friends attending, and then to stand tall, silent and proud at the ceremony for this Hero who gave his all - for his country, and to save the lives of 4 of his comrades in arms.

Mission Plan - 04 June 08:

Stage:    0915 hrs     Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Va (below)
Brief:      0925 hrs
Depart:   1000 hrs

Ride Captain:  Kevin Rock   (410) 867-8882

Iron horses preferred, cages welcome as usual. "Quiet ride" discipline is mandatory.
Large mounted flags preferred for the Escort (furl upon parking at ANC).
Large hand-held flags are not used at ANC.
No military mandated ID or gear required for this mission.

Note:  PGR participated in Ross' burial at ANC on 23 Mar 07, including an escort from his home in Pa to ANC and graveside Honors.  That mission thread has been archived, but is available at:  http://tinyurl.com/6rtmjt

The hotel entrance / staging area is actually located on S. Eads St,
      between 15th St S and 18th St S

Thank You HOLLYWOOD for your participation during the presentation of this highest honor for our fallen hero. Thank you for showing what it is we as a group do for our heros and their families. We do it for them our soldiers for giving all of themselves and the ultimate scarafice. I always stand and always will stand in honor for them all. I am proud to do so.
Our prayers and condolences go out to all the family of this brave soldier, he is resting in peace in the house of our lord. His life here was short but his mission is done. He will be missed forever, but he will never be forgotton and always honored.
