113th  Homecoming to Brandon Mississippi! June 3rd.

This is what we know as of right now and in the great reputation of the military and the Patriot Guard be prepared for last minute changes.

June 3rd, 2008, 8:00am we will stage at the armory at the south gate of Camp Shelby.  We will then escort the buses from Camp Shelby to Brandon Mississippi.

There will be media (Radio 96.3) following in the Radio station van I am told. There will also be lunch served by the city of Brandon directly after the welcome home on the grounds of the Armory.

LEO contact has already been made and we will be finalizing the details this week with all cities from Hattiesburg to Pearl.

All PRC's and Regional HOTH folks are asked to make your staging plans and times and to please forward that information directly to JPaul and myself as soon as you can.

We would like to have at least one cage to support and would like them to have a passenger that can take some pictures and video along the way if at all possible.

We would also like to have one truck with a trailer for bike support in case of any breakdowns.

Thank you

Ok, we are confirmed with our time and date.

There is a new twist in this escort so please take the time to rerad about all staging:

JPaul (SHC) will RC this mission from Camp Shelby. Staging will be at 7:30am at the Armory just outside the South Gate of Camp Shelby. As normal be ready to go!

The only region staging i have so far is from Alan and is follows:

Staging for West Central Region for June 3, 2008

Wal-Mart Hwy 49 Richland 0530 KSU 0600
We will travel HWY 49 S THROUGH Hattiesburg to the Truck Stop at the South Gate of Camp Shelby by 0730 to Refuel and a cup of coffee then we will move to the Armory parking lot at the South Gate where we will be ready to move in front of the busses as they exit the gate at 0800.

We will then travel HWY 49 N to I-98 W to I-59 N to HWY 49 N , Around Hattiesburg and travel back to Jackson

When entering Rankin county you should be met by Rankin county sheriffs department officers. They will inform the group of officers and other riders waiting in Florance.
**Florance staging. We will stage at Waffle house on the east side of highway 49 in Florance at 8:30am. This is where all of the local law enforcement officers will be meeting us and escorting the remainded of the ride. That should give us enough time to fuel, get coffee and be prepared to roll when the buses make it to the area.

Joe and I will stay in communication on the ride up so we are aware of where the escort is and to make sure all stays on schedule

Once entering the town of Florance and Richland be prepared for a slow down. It has come to my attention that among the soldiers on those buses will be 2 police officers, a fireman and the Mayors son. So there will be folks out by the streets and there will be other officers and officials entering the escorts at that time as well.

We will travel 49 north to Flowood / Pearl and turn right onto highway 80 and travel through Pearl and through Brandon. Once we get on the other side of the court house we will turn right on Louis Wilson street then right on Sunset. Travel back up to college street take a left and then turn right on 468 to the Armory.

ALL BIKES are to turn into the Armory and follow the leader to a predetermined area for bike parking. The buses will remain on the road and the soldiers will exit on the road, form and march of the drive. The welcome home ceremony will only last a few minutes.

FOOD will be provided for us thanks to the city of Brandon. Everyone will be welcome to stay and eat or to take a plate and go as they see fit to get back to work or their normal days activities.

We have done a lot with the 113th Family resource group since this units departure, so lets show these soldiers how much we are glad they are home!

See you in BRANDON on JUNE 3rd, 2008!!
