God Bless all of you who have posted comments. Craig and Judy, Sgt. Blake Evans' parents and Shannon, his wife are suffering a loss that many of us no matter how grief stricken we are as well, just can't comprehend.

The hero's recognition you all are bestowing on Blake truly confirms his death was not in vain. He has touched many people in many different ways. Hi role as a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin, a best friend, a student and an acquaintenance has touched so many people during his very short life.

Yet, those of you who didn't know him are grieving for him as well. Your words and comments made with strong conviction prove that Sgt. Blake Evans was a true hero and fought to preserve the freedoms we enjoy everyday.

Since his death, some of us exist in a state of disbelief and shock. How can this be? we ask. He is still alive in our thoughts, memories and our hearts. As the hours turn to days and the days turn to weeks, we will look back on these postings to remember, to see his name in print, to read how others feel, but mostly to be reminded on how proud we all are of our beloved Blake.

He will be greatly missed but never ever forgotten.

God Bless you all!!

Blake,
Gil, Keli, Rissa and I love you with all of our hearts and souls. Although it is never in God's plan to take a life, he is there to embrace you and welcome you into his kingdom. Our love and prayers go out to all the brave men and women who have gone before you and our support goes out to those still holding the line. Blessed are the Peacemakers!

A Prayer for Our Soldiers' Families

Heavenly Father, we pray for the safe return home of our soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan. We ask that you give our military commanders and political leaders wisdom and courage to fulfill their daunting responsibility. Lord, we implore you to please remember the families of these brave men and women. Bless the wives, parents, children and siblings of our fighting forces and give them solace and comfort. If it be your will, bring their loved ones home swiftly, sound in mind and body.

We pray these things in the name of the Son, the Father and the Holy Ghost,

Amen
