20 May 2008 6:05 PM Alert

Lt Col Halls DOD release:
The Department of Defense announced today the death of
a Marine who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Maj. William G. Hall, 38 of Seattle, died March 30
from wounds he suffered while conducting combat
operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq, on March 29.
He was assigned to 3rd Low Altitude Air Defense
Battalion, Marine Air Control Group 38, 3rd Marine
Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp
Pendleton , Calif.

Memorial services were held in Seattle, WA where his
mother lives followed shortly thereafter by his
internment at Arlington National Cemetery. Local
Patriot Guard Riders were on hand on both occasions to
help render honors and show our gratitude and respect.

It is now that I ask my Southern California PGR
brethren to join me for one final mission in honor of
my cousins’ late husband, Lt Col William Gregory Hall,
USMC.

On Sunday June 1, 2008 the PGR is invited to gather in
Temecula , CA to honor the memory of yet another
American Hero who made the ultimate sacrifice in the
course of serving this great Nation of ours.

My cousin Xiomara and her kids are looking forward to
this tribute as a chance to share the memory of their
beloved husband and father.

The PGR will make a presentation of memorial dog tags
and a plaque. Members of the Blue Star Mothers will
also join us for an additional presentation.
Here is an article about my cousin that ran in the
Seattle Times:

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2004322984_webhallobit02m.html

Thank you,
Primo

Mission Itinerary:
Sunday June 1, 2008

1400 Stage at the Home Depot @ 32020 HWY 79, Temecula
CA 92592
(Located approx. 2.5 mi east of the I-15 just past
Redhawk Pkwy.)

2:30 Meet

2:50 KSU

It is a short 6-minute ride/drive to the Hall family
home from there. Once there the presentations should
last approximately 15 minutes.

Primo will be serving as Ride Captain.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider
to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. If this
is your first mission dress for motorcycle riding or
casually if you are driving a cage.

Hello everyone.

I need one more favor.

Three of the Blue Star Mothers (at least one is also a Gold Star Mother) have asked if they can ride on the back of some of our bikes from the Home Depot to the Hall's family home.

I need 3 volunteers with an extra helmet and an empty passenger seat each to provide rides for these ladies.

Any volunteers?

Thank you in advance ,
Primo

I wish to express my profound condolences to family and friends of William Hall.

I offer my thanks for the true character that is embodied in this American soldier. May your sorrow be tempered by the fact that we now honor a true hero who answered the call to serve his country and dedicate a precious segment of his life to freedom.

In your difficult times be mindful that Williams has left a mark on our world and in our hearts.

Stand Down William. Your watch has ended. You made a difference. You will be missed.

FREEDOM ISN'T FREE

I watched the flag pass by one day,
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease...

I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil
How many mothers' tears?

How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea.
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.

I heard the sound of Taps one night,
When everything was still;
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.

I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant "Amen,"
When a flag had draped a coffin.
Of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea.
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.
