Jewel, where did you get your information? This funeral was completed in Las Vegas yesterday before the time of your post and there were no protestors.

My boy, Jon is in the 1/36, 1BCT and served with SSG Legaspi. He has many fond recollections of SSG Legaspi, and he will be greatly missed as they continue their mission in Tal Afar. I hope the Legaspi family can take comfort from the fact that that these men are proud of the job they are doing over there, and that they are making a difference. I'm glad his service was not interrupted, and that he was laid to rest with the honor he deserved.

Guys,

I am subscribed to the DoD announcement list. This casualty was dated the 12th but was not sent out to me until the 15th. His funeral was the 18th. I regret that I was just not swift enough to locate the family in time to give this brave man his just honors.

He stood the ground, he took the fall, and he will be one of our nation's finest forever. As such, he and his family is honored in our hearts just so.
