Welcome home the soldiers of the 151st RSG. Here are some details of their mission while deployed.
FROM 6 MAY 2007 TO 17 APRIL 2008, THE 151ST REGIONAL SUPPORT GROUP WAS CHARGED WITH THE DEFENSE OF VICTORY BASE COMPLEX, THE LARGEST BASE IN IRAQ. THE COMPLEX ENCOMPASSES SEVERAL BASE CAMPS ON APPROXIMATELY 15,000 ACRES AND HAS A POPULATION OF AROUND 50,000 COALITION FORCES AND CIVILIANS. ONCE IN IRAQ TF LEXINGTON WAS COMPRISED OF NATIONAL GUARD, RESERVE, ACTIVE DUTY SOLDIERS AND SAILERS. THE MISSION WAS 24/7 THAT INVOLVED MANAGING THE BASE OPERATIONS CENTER, CONTROLLING THE ENTRY CONTROL POINTS AND CONDUCTING COMBAT PATROLS. THROUGH DEDICATION AND HARD WORK THIS TEAM CREATED A SAFE AND SECURE PLACE FOR THE SOLDIERS AND TENANTS OF VICTORY COMPEX TO LIVE AND WORK. THE RESULTS OF THEIR LABOR SHOWED IN A 70% DROP IN ATTACKS ON THE COMPLEX. THE 151ST ALWAYS STRIVED FOR VICTORY THROUGH PERSEVERANCE. |
