Mission:  Send-off for U.S. Army 1st. Lt. Thomas J. (TJ) Bruneau

Date:  May 17, 2008

Staging Time:  18:15

KSU:  19:00

Location:  NE corner of Loop 101 & 67th Ave., Glendale, AZ (see map below)

TJ's Mom and Dad are planning a little cook out before TJ ships out to the
sandbox.
What TJ doesn't know, is that Mom and Dad have invited the PGR to attend as
well.

I spent a couple hours with Marty and Charles (a.k.a. Mom & Dad) yesterday,
and
they filled me in on TJ, his growing up, his relationship with his
Grandfather (WWII vet),
and his reaction to the bombing of the USS Cole.  TJ was a freshman at ASU
at the time,
and got into the R.O.T.C. program after hearing about the Cole.

It sounds like this is going to be a party to remember, family, friends,
Blue Star Mom's,
and of course the PGR.  I've been assured that there will be plenty of
hamburgers, hot
dogs, Marty's 'homemade' potato salad, and beverages.

If you have questions regarding this mission, please contact
Ride Captain, Neil Scherer at nscherer@cox.net or at (602)524-6610.

_________________________________________________________________________

I received the attached email from a Blue Star Mom:

I am one of the Blue Star Moms and my son will be home from May 13 - 24.  We are having a party for him on May 17 and I was hoping the PGR would be willing to come help us send him off.  We live in Glendale, 85308, which is just north of the 101 off Arrowhead Loop.  Thanks,

Marty Bruneau

Marty's son is Thomas J Bruneau (TJ), a 1st Lt and Tank Commander

Neil has stepped up to be Road Captain for this and additional information will be forthcoming.  Sounds like a good time at the Bruneau's on a Saturday night!!!!
