As some of you already know, the PGR has been asked to do this memorial for Shayna Schnell.
We attended her funeral service and interment last year in Tell City.
We will be staging at Perry Central, which is about 8 mi. south of I-64 on Highway 37, beginning at 10:00 hrs on SATURDAY MAY 3rd 2008.

Brief riders meeting at 10:30 hrs. & KSU at 11:00 hrs. sharp... CENTRAL TIME (1 hour behind Jasper & surrounding area).
This will be a short run & memorial service near Gatchel, IN at the LillyDale cemetery.
We will stand a flag line at the cemetery for the brief ceremony & wreath presentation. It appears that we should be finished within 45 mins. to 1 hr after we leave the school.

We have been invited by Doug & Peggy Schnell to visit them at their home for socializing after the memorial....on an optional basis. Here is a MapQuest link to Perry Central School.
"It appears we have appointed our worst generals to command forces, and our most gifted and brilliant to edit newspapers! In fact, I discovered by reading newspapers that these editor/geniuses plainly saw all my strategic defects from the start, yet failed to inform me until it was too late. Accordingly, I'm readily willing to yield my command to these obviously superior intellects, and I'll, in turn, do my best for the cause by writing editorials - after the fact." Robert E. Lee, 1863

| We'll be there. I've got the police escort set up. Going to talk to Sheriff Bob about riding with us, too. |

RIDE REPORT by GI Joe
After a slight delay due to contrary machines, a contingency of 6 riders left Jasper and headed out to Perry Central High School. What looked to be wet and dreary turned out to be a great sunshiny day for everyone. It was a pleasant surprise to see many more good folks at Perry Central upon our arrival. We had over a dozen motorcycles and approximately 35 people in all.
Trent Schnell led the Memorial Procession out of Perry Central on his new Harley followed by Peggy & Doug in their new Special Edition Mustang and our PGR motorcycles with Old Glory in the breeze. Our gal Puddin had arranged for LEO to control traffic at the light on SR 37, so our procession went very smooth from the high school to the cemetery at Gatchel. After arriving at the LillyDale cemetery, we all stood a flagline as Pastor Eddy Overding did a great job at the cemetery for the Memorial Ceremony.
Mr. Harold Greer from the Tell City Legion added a special touch by playing Taps during the presentation of the Memorial Wreath to Peggy and Doug Schnell. Thanks to Leesa for doing the initial set-up for this mission and for fabricating the beautiful wreath. Thanks to Sweetie for helping with the sign-in sheets and Tony for taking some pics. Thanks to John Kraft for pulling his trailer behind his Wing so that we had plenty of flags on hand.
A salute to Greg, Jeff, Capt. Jim ('Ship'), & Buck for coming in from Owensboro and Georgetown and to all the members of the PGR who made this mission to remember and honor Shayna successful and complete…..Mission accomplished!!
God bless you all for what you do. And lastly…..a very special thanks to Peggy and Doug, who invited us into their home afterwards and made us all feel like part of their Family.
It was an honor for us to be there to support you…Semper Fi>>>Joe Lorey/GI Joe |
