Columbia Staging:


Staging time will be at 1430 (2:30PM). We will stage in the parking lot at the West Columbia Armory at 3528 Platt Springs Road. Due to limited parking we will park the bikes on the grass in front og the Armory (bring your kickstand plated just in case). Prepare for a long delay so bring water and something to snack on. Just like last time this info is subject to chance, so check this thread often.

Fountain Inn Staging:

Let me start by saying the following info is subject to change so please check this thread often.

We will stage at exit 22 [OLD LAURENS RD] off interstate 385 at 3:00pm with the ride briefing at 3:30. As you come off the exit look for the bikes, we will stage at the empty business just east of the exit. [The same location as last time]. 

All bikes present will escort the bus from exit 22 to the armory with leo escort. Cagers will go ahead to the armory to welcome the soilders there. Please bring water etc, it will be hot and with the expected delays we may be waiting a while.

More of South Carolina’s finest will come home to their loved ones after months in Combat this Thursday, 1May08. 

Troops of the South Carolina Army National Guard 218th Brigade are in route to their home stations as we speak. 

Please join us in Welcoming these Carolina Patriots back from their Tour of Duty in the Global War on Terrorism.

 

Troops will arrive Thursday, 1May08 to the following South Carolina Cities, Fountain Inn, West Columbia, Darlington, and North Charleston.

 

Times are sketchy as always, and subject to change, so please check the website frequently.

RIDE REPORT
DARLINGTON S.C. 218TH.
5/1/08

WE HAD A GOOD WELCOME HOME.THERE WAS A LOT OF JOY AND HAPPINESS AT THE ARMORY.THERE WAS 20 BIKES IN THE ESCORT FROM STATE LINE TO THE AMORY .WHEN THEY ARRIVED WE HAD A FLAGLINE WITH 50 FLAGS TO WELCOME THE TROOPS HOME.
   I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE VOLUNTEERS THAT SUPPORTED THIS WELCOME HOME.CB ANDERSON FROM ROLLING THUNDER LEAD THE ESCORT FROM DILLON TO DARLINGTON.BOB DUNCAN AND THE AMERICAN LEGION RIDERS FROM MURRELLS INLET DID A VERY PROFESSIONAL JOB WITH THERE PRESENTATION.VFW AND MARINE CORP LEAGUE FOR THERE HELP WITH PARKING CARS AND OTHER DUTIES.P.D. HOG CHAPTER AND THE GROUP FROM LAKE VIEW THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT.ANITA ATKINSON AND SGT. LOVE IT WAS GREAT WORKING WITH YOU AND BEING A PART OF SUCH AN IMPORTANT DAY IN YOUR LIFE.
   TO ALL VOLUNTEERS AND SUPPORTERS WE THE PGR THANK EACH ONE FOR HELP MAKING THIS A SUCCESS.
    SHORT STORY:
AT THE END OF THE MISSION ONE OF OUR VFW SUPPORTERS CAME UP TO ME TO THANK ME FOR INVITING THEM.HE COULD HARDLY TALK BECAUSE OF THE TEARS COMING OUT OF HIS EYES FROM MEMORIES OF HIS RETURN HOME FROM WW2.I THINK THAT ANSWERS THE QUESTION A NEWS REPORTER ASK ME WHY DO WE DO THIS.
