As a Help On the Homefront (HOTH) mission, the Patriot Guard Riders have arranged to visit the veterans living at the Ft Meade VA Hospital in Sturgis, SD.  The visit will take place on Saturday, May 3rd.  The plan is to meet in the parking lot on the west side of the Rapid City Civic Center at 1 pm, then go KickStands Up at 1:15 pm for the ride to Sturgis.  We will stop at the Phil-Stop at Exit 30 at Sturgis to meet up with any riders coming from the Northern Hills and to mount our flags on our bikes if you have them.  We will depart the Phil-Stop at 1:50 pm to ride to the VA Hospital arriving there at 2 pm.
We made a visit to the VA at this same time last year, and the veterans were extremely appreciative of the company.  Most of them no longer had family around who could visit, so they never got company from the outside.  Here is a chance to have a personal impact on the life of a veteran who has served his country and is now in his later years.
Annette Kruse is the HOTH Coordinator for this mission.  Please email Annette and let her know if you can attend.  Her email address is akruse1972@q.com or at akek97718@msn.com .  If you do not RSVP, but can still attend, please do.   Lets give the veterans a memorable day.
