Bob "FirePlug" Howard's Ride Report. Job well done FirePlug.

All riders arived at the funeral home in Raymore at 9 am. I had a short meeting with them knowing we all have done this many number of times we still covered all aspects of safety and positions on the flag line. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day to give this man and his family the honor of being the escorts and guards. Msgt Meador Sr. Ret. was another of this countries greatest heroes that we are loosing at an alarming rate. He was a veteran of WWll,Korea as well as Veitnam. Having served with the Merchant Marines,Navy and retiring from the Army. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Verna and their three children, many grandchildren. He will be missed by many. He was laid to rest in a small cemetery about 16 miles south of this location, given full military honors. We were given the priviledge of carrying him from the funeral home to the hearse as a request by the family. This should remain in the hearts and minds of those involved for many years. We gave him four bikes to lead and three to follow . LEO from Raymore PD to the Belton PD and Cass County took us the rest of the way. We set up a flag line around the family. Taps were played in echo with 21 gun salute. We prepared to leave and the family wanted to come around and thank all of us for being there. Mission complete.
