At this time, weather forecast ranges from severe rain and hail storms to .... well, maybe not. Therefor, we may or may not ride escort from funeral home to Veteran's Cemetery south of Springfield on Hwy 65. In the event weather prevents ride, we'll still stand flag line at cemetery. Bring rain gear. Flags will be available. I will trailer my bike and, should weather clear, I will ride. If not, we leave the funeral home early, go to the cemetery and set up flags. You be he judge of riding or caging. Stage at 0845, at Gorman Sharpf Funeral Home, located on E. Seminole about 100 yards east of Glenstone.

THIS IS A CONFIRMED MISSION
The family of SSG Ronald C. Blystone, 46, KIA April 23 in Iraq, has
requested PGR presence to honor this fallen American hero.
1. As of now, SSG Blystone will arrive Springfield/Branson Regional Airport
either Wednesday or Thursday afternoon.
Will post final ETA when known. We will form flag line at the plane side, then escort
cortege to Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole Street, Springfield.
Staging is 1 hour before plane arrival at the Charter terminal, located
about 50 yards from the Arrivals' area on the right. Park on left side,
under cover, of terminal parking area. LEO will also escort and block
intersections.
2. VISITATION: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at Gorman Scharpf Funeral
Home. Flags line will be formed at entrance. Staging at 5 p.m. in the
parking lot of the funeral home at 1947 E. Seminole Street. This is
definite.
3. GRAVESIDE SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, at Missouri Veteran's
Cemetery in Springfield off Hwy 65 south. Flag line will be formed at
stone reception building, located in front of Memorial Wall. Although
not confirmed at this time, we probably will provide escort from funeral
home to cemetery, with LEO escort. If we do escort to cemetery, staging
will be at funeral home at about 9:30 a.m.
4. Regret lack of definite details, but SSG Blystone's wife and 3
children arrives tomorrow from Texas and everything has not been fully
decided.

DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Staff Sgt. Ronald C. Blystone, 34, of Springfield, Mo ., died April 23 in Baghdad, Iraq, from wounds suffered when he encountered small arms fire during a dismounted patrol. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

My deepest sympathy to the family of SSG. Ronald C. Blystone. I appreciate all of his contributions to our country and may there be a special place for him in heaven. He gave his 'all' so young. He has joined the ranks of heroes and I love him for that. He is America's son, and I am an American. That makes him partly my loss too. I will never forget.
