There will be NO formal procession to the Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Anyone wishing to attend will be on their own to get there.


Jim and Jan (Mailman and Milktoast) are Ride Captains, Mike "Taildragger" is
assistant for the Funeral.

Part 2: Interment is in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly at 1430 hrs.

DoD Identifies Army Casualties 
            The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died April 23 in Golden Hills, Iraq, of injuries suffered in a vehicle incident. They were assigned to the 1st Squadron, 32nd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Your untimely death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. We are proud of your service and dedication in that which you believed in and fought for. Your mission is complete. You are truly an American hero and the world in which we live is a safer place because of your commitment to freedom. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect. We pray that you will now rest peacefully in the arms of God. May He provide peace, comfort, and understanding to each life you touched.

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends in this very sad time in your lives. My prayers are that our GOD may bring peace and comfort to all of you during this tragic time. Please know that not just me , but a country full of people like me owe you a debt that can never be repaid. We know that your loved one is now serving in the Army of our LORD in heaven, and the LORD said if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and recieve you unto myself that where I am there you may be also. I thank you for the sacrifice you and your family have endured so our nation can remain the home of the free because of the brave. We are all brothers and sisters in arms and we don't forget one of our own, rest in peace my comrade, your mission is complete and now it's time for you to rest. My deepest sympathy to the family of Pfc. John T. Bishop,.  I appreciate all of his contributions to our country and may there be a special place for him in heaven. He gave his 'all' so young.   He has joined the ranks of heroes and I love him for that.  He is America's son, and I am an American.  That makes him partly my loss too. I will never forget.

Our heart felt condolences to the Bishop family and friends in the loss of John. Thank you for his service to this great country. Our prayers go out to God for you in this time of loss. John served to give us the freedom we now enjoy so much and for that he is one of the GREAT AMERICAN HEROS of the land. God bless your family and friends. Wish I could have shaken his hand and told him thank you myself. God tells us that “Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13) As Christ our Lord laid down His life for us that believe in Him for salvation, so your love one has laid down his life for us for our freedom. This act has made him a Super Hero in my heart and I thank-you deeply for this sacrifice made for our freedoms. I pray that God will now bless your lives and help you see how great a thing this is which your loved one has done.
