********MISSION COMPLETE********
Over 20 bikes and half a dozen cages were present Friday afternoon at the cargo facility north of Little Rock National Airport to welcome home 129 members of India Company, 3rd Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment. We escorted them to Camp Pike for their reunion with family and friends whom they hadn't seen in almost a year. Adding to the usual excitement of such a homecoming were a couple of special events. LCpl Ryan Pierce was able to see and hold his new son, Haden, for the first time, and LCpl Dustin Wear got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend, Marie Dalby.
Thank you to everyone who turned out to participate in this mission. Although the weather appeared a bit threatening early on, the rain held off and weather was good for the mission. A special thank you goes to the Arkansas State Police troopers and North Little Rock Police Department officers for leading the procession and providing traffic control. I'd also like to thank Marine SSgt Adkin Lomax for coordinating this mission. |
