You are truly appreciated, PO1 Morton. I know you have been welcomed as a hero at heaven's gates by all our fallen warriors who have gone before you. Rest easy now, Cherie, and know you will never be forgotten here.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice in defending and protecting our freedoms. As a nation we mourn your loss, and we will remember you always as a true American hero. To the family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of what you are going through-my son, a Marine LCpl, was killed in Iraq. I pray wonderful memories of your dear warrior help eventually to ease the pain you endure today. Your hero will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. God bless you. Julie Francis, Matt's Mom

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of PO1 Cherie L. Morton,Thanks for being one of our heroes. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.

We salute you , My Friend

Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
She hoped her shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as her brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared her shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unwomanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of her God.
"Step forward now,soldier
you’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets;
you’ve done your time in Hell."

As I get ready to write to you, the words fall away as almost meaningless because of the pain I know you feel. I know, because I have felt that pain.

Know that you are NOT alone on this difficult path. Others are there to help you: reach out and embrace them, for they are offering not only themselves, but sharing with you that little bit of the Almighty that resides in all of us. This offering/sharing is what WILL give you the strength you will need to get thru. Trust me.

Any service related death, whether accident or illness, wounds received or KIA, warrant the Gold Star for the family. Don't let anyone tell you different.

I offer you my services, such as they are. If you want to talk, feel free to get in touch with me thru the PGR messaging. I WILL return your call/message. ANYTIME!

In the meantime know that my wife's and my prayers are with you.

My prayers are being offered up to our Lord on behalf of Cherie's family and friends. May you find comfort and the peace that passes all understanding during this difficult time. God knows the pain you feel right now, cry out to him and lean on him. You are not alone! God's Word says He will never leave you nor forsake you. The Holy Spirit is here to be our Comforter. God's Word also says there is a time for weeping and mourning and then comes the time for joy. You will eventually have that joy and be able to celebrate the wonderful life that Cherie lived. Nobody can take away from you the memories that you will cherish and hold onto.

Thanks is hardly enough to say for what Cherie has given for each of us to be free to say and do what we choose and to have the freedoms that so many take for granted. I am sincerely appreciative of each and every person who in the past, present and future are willing to put their life on the line to protect mine.

Saturday we will be standing with great humility and yet with great pride for the sacrifice Cherie has made.

May God be with you.

I am the wife of a Marine veteran. I stand by him with honor and respect.

Humbled to serve My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by doing whatever I can to show others the love of God by spreading the Gospel!!

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, but by me." John 14:6 It's not about "religion", it's about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Savior. Do you know Jesus personally??
He suffered and died for all of our sins and is offering the gift of eternal life. Please accept Him and you will receive his gift.

True Love is sacrificial giving...... not just good intentions!!

A Prayer for Our Soldiers' Families

Heavenly Father, we pray for the safe return home of our soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan. We ask that you give our military commanders and political leaders wisdom and courage to fulfill their daunting responsibility. Lord, we implore you to please remember the families of these brave men and women. Bless the wives, parents, children and siblings of our fighting forces and give them solace and comfort. If it be your will, bring their loved ones home swiftly, sound in mind and body.

We pray these things in the name of the Son, the Father and the Holy Ghost,

Amen
