Every year,the military honors their EOD Technicians that have given the ultimate sacrifice. This year, the 40th annual Memorial ceremony will take place at 0900 hrs. on 03 May, 2008.  They are enshrining 17 brave Americans, 6 Navy,6 Marines, 4 Army and 1 Air Force. The Patriot Guard Riders have been honorably requested to participate in the ceremony. For more details, this link will take you to the website www.eodmemorial.org/index3.html
The ceremony is held at the EOD Memorial site which is on Eglin AFB in front of the EOD school. The ceremony is expected to last close to 2 hours with a flyover by Air Force F-16s, 21 gun salute and taps. Attendees include the family members of the fallen, active duty and retired EOD personnel from all branches of the military. Flags are presented to the families of each of the fallen heroes. This ceremony is not open to the public as it is on Air Force property.
Since we will be riding onto a military base, we are told that appropriate riding  gear is a requirement. This includes helmet, Full finger gloves, long pants and long sleeve shirt. A  jacket will suffice while on base. Long pants and closed toe footware.
Plans are, after staging, to  ride in, past security, as a group. We will park our bikes and form a flagline around the ceremony.
I, Captain Toby, will be going to the site on Wednesday, 23 April, 2008 to attend my son's graduation from the EOD school. After the graduation, I am meeting with officials for a  walk through. Exact location of the Winn Dixie will come after this date.
They stood for us, now its our turn to stand for them.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of these heroes. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. We honor these America's Heroes who will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of any and all EOD Technicians who have given their all. You will be missed “Brothers”. Stand down your tour is done.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

Mission Complete- EOD Memorial

The 39th Annual Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) ceremony mission went well. We had 16 bikes stage from the Panama City area that rode together to Eglin and combined with other PGR members from as far as Tallahassee. We were honored to ride with numerous EOD riders as well, in total there were 48 bikes that rode in to honor these fallen heroes. Filling in as our support vehicle operators were Neil and Cindy Grindal from Panama City and what a fine job they did. We thank you both.

Both PGR and EOD riders formed flaglines together along the backside of the road, facing the ceremony. Unfortunatley, the PA system decided to take a vacation during the ceremony, so hearing the proceedings was next to impossible. We expected the ceremony to last longer than it did but the threat of rain may have moved things along a little faster. The rain held off and we were able to return to Panama City without a drop falling on us.

Submitted Respectfully,

Once you go Fat, you never go back!
