WELCOME HOME
Springfield, Oregon
Saturday, 04-12-08
1200hrs – Appx. 1330hrs
We have been asked to provide a flag line and short escort to help Welcome Home Sgt. Scott M. Brasil from Afghanistan. Scott is an Army M.P. Scott has done one tour in Iraq where he was injured and is 20% disabled and is now doing a tour in Afghanistan where he will be returning after a two week leave. Here are a couple of lines from his mother’s letter to me:
“The Patriot Guard is so awesome! My son is a true American Hero in every sense of the word!! My son is the perfect example of a soldier, patriot, son, and father. He has a new born son that he hasn't seen yet and his wife was a M.P. also and has just recently opted out after five years in.”
As you can tell Mom's very proud as she should be. Please come and help show her how proud and thankful we are for his service to our country.

| Welcome Home Scott. You and your wife have clearly given much of yourselves to serve your country. To continue on active duty after receiving a 20% disability is far beyond the call of duty. I salute you, Sir. May the Lord bless and keep both of you safe. You have the respect of every PGR member in this state and many from other states as well, I assure you. |

| Hi all. I'm Houa, SGT. Brasil's wife.
Well...I was bored at work so I decided to try to find the article on my husband's Welcome Home ceremony. I clicked on the first site I saw with his name, which directed me to this site. All I can say is wow! I read thru some of the replies and it all touched my heart. My husband and I are both Veterans and we actually met in Iraq in 2003 when my company was attached to his battalion. Five years later, our relationship is as strong as it's ever been and we have a new little guy who became part of our family on Feb 7th.
It warms my heart to know that there are such great people left in this world who appreciates the sacrifices that our service members make everyday. There's some of us that has never experienced the kind of welcoming like the one you guys had for my husband. To experience a special moment like that is priceless and I know it makes us feel like we're doing something right. =)
A big "THANK YOU" to you all. Words just cannot express my gratitude. |
