To the Maupin family:
"I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic he died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom.” RIP Soldier, and "Thank You!"

I appreciate the contribution to our country that SSgt Matt Maupin had given us. Following his story brought a certain personal connection. Although we tried our best to keep the faith, all can have closure. My heart sunk none the less when I heard the news. My condolences to friends and family. ~+~ Rose

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of SSG Keith Matthew Maupin. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Keith.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

   It was with very heavy heart that I heard this news.  Having followed the efforts of Keith and Carolyn in their attempts to locate Matt, although not totally unexpected, this is the ultimate tragedy for them and Micah.  The outpouring of love and strength they have displayed these past 4 years is beyond compare.

   Thank you, Matt, for your service and the ultimate sacrifice you have made for the preservation of our freedom and liberties.  There is no doubt that God welcomed you with open arms as you approached the Gates of Heaven and you have been watching over your family, friends and community from your rightful place among the Angels.  As you are returned home, may you now rest in everlasting peace.

   Stand down Matt.  Your mission is now complete.  You may be gone but you will never be forgotten.  God Speed son.

   Will make every effort to attend this most honorable mission.
Respects,
Joe
