We have two bikes coming from Galion or the Mansfield area North of Columbus. We are going to by-pass Columbus and rush hour. If there is room for a couple more, we will maybe join in at the truck stop for breakfast.

I understand completely. I was trying to educate. I've been called a lot worse than a soldier! We both served our country proudly. I was trying to gently explain what a Marine would like to be referred to as. old corps |

We would be glad to have you join us at the truck stop. We will be there at 0900 for a bite to eat and will leave out around 1000 or so. Stop on in at 0900 and eat with us or meet us at 1000 to ride into town with us.

Glad to see the support we will be having. KZOHIO and myself went out and scouted it out this afternoon. Did the whole route a few times to be honest but was a good ride. He will probably post the final info of what we decided on here in a bit. We made it very simple to get there and may possibly have a Police Escort from the staging point to the Church. Should find out about that tomorrow for sure. if not we have a route that we can take and avoid a good many lights. i am from the area so not a problem finding our way around. Be happy to see all of yall there.

gnipp and others in Western PA and Ron in WV.
I'll meet anyone from Western PA who wants to ride over to Zanesville on Thrusday am at the Sunoco Station at the Bridgeville PA exit off I 79 at 7:30 for a 7:45 departure. If you are coming from the North, get off at Bridgeville, come around the exit and stay in the lleft of three lanes, the Sunoco is diagonal across Rt 50.
Ron, I'll meet you in WV or St. Clairsville where ever you say. Possibly if you wait at an exit we you could pick us up as we ride by.
If anyone wants my cell, e-mail me and I'll send it out to you in a return e-mail.

ITINERARY UPDATE for Mission to honor LCpl Benjamin Rush, 22, of Zanesville OH
The church service will be held at:
Coburn United Methodist Church
3618 N Maple Ave
Zanesville OH 43701
Internment at Zanesville Memorial Park, about 1-1/2 miles from the church.
Mission schedule is:
Staging 10:45 - 11:45
Briefing 11:45
Move to Church & setup display of flags by 12:15
Service starts 13:00
We have been asked to present a display of flags prior to the funeral services, lead the hearse in the procession and present another flag display at the cemetery entrance.
We will split in to two groups after the service starts, one to set up the display of flags at the cemetery entrance and the other group to ride in the police escorted procession. Details will be covered in the mission briefing before leaving the staging area.
Staging Location, easy to find off of Interstate I-70:
Speedway Gas Station
930 Blue Ave
Zanesville, OH 43701-2808
http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=930+Blue+Ave,+Zanesville,+OH+43701&om=1
(If the above Google Map URL does not show up as a link, copy and paste in to your browser for map location)
The management of the Speedway station have graciously allowed us to stage at their location. We are going to start parking bikes/vehicles in the first driveway (South end) as you approach the Speedway station and will use additional areas as needed.
Directions to staging area:
From the West, going EAST on I-70
Exit I-70 at Exit 153 (Liberty St/State St), bear Right off the exit on to Liberty St (South),
Turn Left (within a few hundred feet) on to Jackson St.(East),
Go 1 block and turn Left on to State St (North), cross over I-70, road turns into (renamed) Blue Ave.,
The Speedway station is on your right in about ½ block.
From the East, going WEST on I-70
Exit I-70 at Exit 153A,
Turn Right off the exit on to Blue Ave
The Speedway station is on your right in about ½ block.
There will be a group of us coming from the West (Columbus) meeting at the Flying J station/truck stop off I-70 Exit 122 starting at 09:00 for breakfast. Anyone is welcome to join us and ride to Zanesville together. We will leave for Zanesville by 10:15.
Please bring your flags on poles (if possible). As I mentioned in my preliminary mission post, the family has asked that we provide a “line of flags” display at the cemetery. It is my wish that we can comply with their wish by lining the drive all the way from the entrance to the gravesite.
Thank you everyone for taking time to honor this Marine and showing respect to his family and friends.

Sounds good to me Kelly. Will see you all at teh Flying J and the rest of you coming from different areas at the Speedway station. Last I heard talking sporadic showers so be careful. If you are not comfortable riding in the rain by all means cage it. The more support the better even if it is not all bikes.
As Kelly said bring flags if you can I know Butch said he is planning on coming and I believe he has about 15 flags so if you do not have one I am sure we can get you one.
See you all there! RIDE CAREFUL!!!!! |

Anyone coming west on I- 70 there is construction between Taylorstown and Claysville. This is causing major back -ups. You may want to get off at the Taylorstown exit and take Rte. 40 west to Claysville, then get back on I - 70 at Claysville. Waiting to hear from the boss about taking off work, Hollywood. Let ya know ASAP.

My sincere condolences to the family of LCpl Benjamin Rush on the loss of their son. This is the first time I’ve found someone whom I’m probably related to, although distantly as my Rush ancestors came from Zanesville OH via NC and my Great-Great-Grandfather's name was Benjamin Rush. While I am unable to make this mission, I will be there in spirit and in my prayers.

Yes, I got cleared for the day off work. I'm still having some issues with the gout but I'm counting on it easing up some more by thursday so I can shift. If I can't shift, I don't mind taking the back seat or riding shotgun in a cage [hint, hint]. I am meeting up with snoodel and goddess at Newcomerstown truck stop at exit 65 between 09:30 and 09:45 before proceeding to Cambridge. You are more than welcome to meet us there if you like. Our eta at Cambridge will be closer to 10:10.
