ITINERARY UPDATE for Mission to honor LCpl Benjamin Rush, 22, of Zanesville OH
The church service will be held at: Coburn United Methodist Church 3618 N Maple Ave Zanesville OH 43701

We have been asked to present a display of flags prior to the funeral services, lead the hearse in the procession and present another flag display at the cemetery entrance. We will split in to two groups after the service starts, one to set up the display of flags at the cemetery entrance and the other group to ride in the police escorted procession. Details will be covered in the mission briefing before leaving the staging area.
Staging Location, easy to find off of Interstate I-70:

The management of the Speedway station have graciously allowed us to stage at their location. We are going to start parking bikes/vehicles in the first driveway (South end) as you approach the Speedway station and will use additional areas as needed.
Directions to staging area:
From the West, going EAST on I-70 Exit I-70 at Exit 153 (Liberty St/State St), bear Right off the exit on to Liberty St (South), Turn Left (within a few hundred feet) on to Jackson St.(East), Go 1 block and turn Left on to State St (North), cross over I-70, road turns into (renamed) Blue Ave., The Speedway station is on your right in about ½ block.
From the East, going WEST on I-70 Exit I-70 at Exit 153A, Turn Right off the exit on to Blue Ave The Speedway station is on your right in about ½ block.
There will be a group of us coming from the West (Columbus) meeting at the Flying J station/truck stop off I-70 Exit 122 starting at 09:00 for breakfast. Anyone is welcome to join us and ride to Zanesville together. We will leave for Zanesville by 10:15.
Please bring your flags on poles (if possible). As I mentioned in my preliminary mission post, the family has asked that we provide a “line of flags” display at the cemetery. It is my wish that we can comply with their wish by lining the drive all the way from the entrance to the gravesite.
Thank you everyone for taking time to honor this Marine and showing respect to his family and friends. |

| Getting the LT serviced in Wooster. Coming down from there to Zanesville. I plan on leaving the dealer in Wooster (All Seasons Motorsports) at 1000. Looks like Amish riding all the way there. This fine dealership is letting me use a loaner and have linked the PGR site with their site. |

My sincerest condolences to the family and friends of LCpl Benjamin Rush. May the Lord comfort you and grant you his peace.
It is with extreme regret that I do not expect to be able to make this mission. May the PGR be successful in honoring LCpl Rush, an American hero, and supporting and comforting all who knew him. |

I am so looking forward to seeing the familiar faces of Missions Past. And excited about meeting new members at this Mission of Respect. I am constantly impressed by the resolve of our members to attend and support these families..
The weather is expected to be showers, though possibly sporadic. If you don't feel as comfortable as I do in the rain, by all means bring one of those things with four wheels. So we have umbrellas with flags sticking out from underneath them. The rain will only make our presence and sacrifices more powerful.
It is so important to show this family that their sacrifice and that of Ben's is not forgotten, but is appreciated and respected by us all. I have no doubt that this Marine has gone through much tougher times for us and our freedom.
This family and local Law Enforcement has already let it be known that they are looking forward to having us in this fine town. I for one, will be more than proud to ride in honor of this young Marine. They are requesting a mammoth amount of flags at the cemetery entrance greeting the procession. If I'm not mistaken, they are asking the PGR motorcyclists to lead the procession. The Leathernecks are undoubtedly going to be present, therefore, they will lead and we will happily follow.
For those of you not familiar with the Leathernecks, they are a group of Marine (past and present) motorcyclists that have been attending and paying respects at Marine funerals long before the PGR came into existence. My point is, they have been doing all along, what America should have been doing. Not looking back though, we can only look to the future, and insure the mistakes of the past are never repeated again. We will, forever more, honor, respect and support the families of our fallen protectors, no matter the age or years of service, or branch served.
We represent over 29,000 members and uncountable Patriotic Americans. Let's show the Rush Family how much we love them and appreciate the invitation to celebrate the life of Ben.
Always travel safely to a mission and returning home to your families. Your safety on the road is, and will continue to be, a concern of mine. PLEASE DO NOT RUSH WHILE ON THE ROAD. PLEASE, BE ALERT, SAFE, AND DEFENSIVE ALWAYS ! YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU, EACH AND EVERY ONE. |
