It is the Military who salutes YOUR flag, who serves beneath YOUR flag, whose coffin is draped by YOUR flag, and who by their service allows the protester to burn YOUR flag.

To the family and many friends of Chief Victor Vialpando my sincere condolences. May God help us though this difficult time of loss and sorrow. Although you don’t realize how many lives you touch in your lifetime, knowing that you leave this world a little better place because you were here is a great thing. Chief, as he was known to many of us is going to be missed greatly. I wish we would have had more time to hear all your wonderful stories and experiences.

Chief had guts, could be very stubborn if he wanted and had an unstoppable will to live, all of which was shown to me this summer when he broke his ankle and after almost 2 weeks he cut the cast off himself because he couldn’t work or ride his motorcycle. He never did go back to the doctor. We would always get excited to see Chief riding by and my kids knew who he was and you could always point him out in a group.

Chief, you are definitely a true American Hero and we thank you for your service to our country. We already miss you!

Val and I worked as FDC's on the flight Deck of the USS Kitty Hawk during his last tour before his retirment. Val loved the Navy and taking care of his troops as well as his love for family and riding free. He said at his retirement never take no for an answer if you want something you must go out of your way to get it. He will truly be missed as he was a true shipmate to me. God Bless and God Bless the Guard for attending.
