Guess I'm the 1st one to make it back to the computer.
The West Paris parade was a success albiet a small one :0)
The parade officials asked if we'd liead the parade which was an honor. People kept coming up to all of us and Thanking us for being there.
All I could do was say "Thank You for inviting us".
We didnt get to travel very far and good thing because the marchers had a hard time keeping up with us and we were barely rolling.
So to the sounds of rumbling exhausts, the tooting of Harley horns and my "air horns" we waved and had a great time.
There was a small ceremony at the cemetary and then we headed back into town. I dont think we went more than a mile to the cemetary and back. But the feelings of gratitude from those who watched the parade was awesome.
I had house obligations and had to head back to Augusta, but Cruiser, Mike and a few others took the "long way" home. I'm jealous but there will be another chance soon at the meet & greet.
I'm honored to be hooked up with such a great bunch of caring individuals. Enjoy whats left of the holiday. Going outside to cook some hot dogs

| Another proud moment for our PGR folks. We were asked to lead the parade, which made me feel like we really are doing someting for our fallen comrades. This parade reminded me of the parades I used to attend as a little guy(?) in my home town. We would watch the "old guys" with the funny uniforms and do whatever they did; salute, cry, etc. Well, I hate to say, that's what I did today. I lost some friends in Vietnam and for some reason, after all those years, I had a hard time with tears today when I thought of them. Thank you PGR and West Paris for helping me remember my friends the way they deserve to be remembered, and for allowing me to pay a small tribute to people just like them. |

Hey West Paris Riders,
We had a presence today in three seperate Memorial Day Parades.
Thanks to all of you for being there. You folks inspire patriotism in your fellow citizens, both here and "back in the states" I understand that America is watching the Maine PGR. You are indeed demonstrating what it means to be a real American...making your state look real good.
Additionally:
Yesterday...PGR rolls at the Indy 500.
Federal legislation was signed into law today (Monday) a bill that keeps demonstrators from disrupting military funerals.
I would say it was a great Memorial Day Weekend.
By the way, we also had that HD parade-overheat experience, like "riding a barbequer" speaking of barbeque...it's time to get back to the grills.
Thanks again folks, great job. |

Hi all, just got in from a long day!
Wow! I was only asked if we would participate in the parade! When we arrived on site, I jumped off my scoot to meet Doreen: she instructed us to go around the block and she would meet us on the other side...so we did. When we got over there we thought we were behind the fire trucks...but no! Doreen kept waving us further and further to the front of the line. She told us where to get in line. Although it was the beginning of the street..we didn't think anything of it since others were coming in from the right of the intersection. We all dismounted and just starting talking to one another. I headed towards Doreen & Bertha was with her, they informed me that they would be honored if PGR would take lead position in the parade! Tears welled in my eyes!
I had to call all PGR together...and broke the news! Every PGR member was in awe! We really couldn't believe it.
After the parade, we made it back to the line up area, I joined Doreen & Bertha in passing out pop-sicicles (how the heck you spell that??? lol ) to all the parade participants to help cool them down. When I left to go do this, all you guys were working on a route to go for a ride. When I returned, every last one of them were gone! - oh well....I missed the ride!
Anyway, two soldiers from the 133rd and I rode down to the intersection of 216 & 26 and ate at the restaurant there on the corner. I didnt even get off my scoot and people were coming from across the street to talk. Thanks cruizer, I gave them the business cards! They continued to thank us for Sgt. Cory Dan's honor mission, Spc. Smith's welcome hone...and now this. I was outside that restaurant for a good 10 mins! Got into the restaurant and it started all over again! PGR...PGR...PGR! That's all everyone was talking about!
What can I say guys & girls??? YOU ALL ARE A CLASS ACT!

Sorry we missed all the local parades especially west paris as that is my home town where I grew up. Frebrd and I represented Maine PGR at the N.H. mission. Almost as much if not the same amount of bikes that represented PGR at Sgt. Dan's mission. We the PGR are making a huge impression of Patriotism that has been on the back burner for too long of time. It is a great honor to be a memberof something that will never let our American Soldiers be forgotten. See you at the M&G Saturday. John & Bunny O'Leary Norway, Me |
