02 May 2006 8:26 AM Alert

Folks,

Our presence has been requested at the services for Walter Robinson, 1st Lt. U.S. Army, WWII

1st LT. Robinson was a Forward Observer in the South pacific during the war. His son is a friend of mine and a strong believer in what the PGR stands for.

Service will be held at:

St. Catharine Cemetery - West Chicago Blvd, Spring Lake NJ

Saturday, May 6 2006 10:00 AM

Staging Area:

On the corner of Rt 35 and 18th Ave in Wall Twp 07719
is a Burger King. This is just south of the 195/138
off ramp by just 1/2 mile.

So take the Rt 35 South exit from 195 and the BK will
be on the right the next traffic light. There is a gas station
right across the street.

We will leave for the cemetery at about 9:30 AM It is short ride to the cemetery, about 2 miles.

This will be a short service and everything will be done at the St. Catharine's Cemetery.

Unfortunately it looks like rain on Saturday. I will be riding regardless (I live very close) Safety first and take your car if needed.

Please post if you will attending, I want to get an idea on the turnout.

Thank you

Declan Quinn (aka decman) NJ Ride Captain

I'll be attending Saturday's mission in Spring Lake and will be taking the bike unless it is really pouring with thunder and lightning. If anybody wants to meet up and ride together, I'll be taking 195 across from the Trenton area. We can find a good meeting place.

I should be able to make this one. This will be my first ride, is there anything I need to know besides showing respect? Sort of a bitter sweet feeling being able to go on ride. Bring flags, etc. Cam I bring my 14 year old son?

Thanks,
Jimmy

Dec, Lou, and all -

I think as the State Captain, I should be at this mission, and not on a fun ride. I’m in no way implying that everyone should go, but it’s right in my back yard. I can’t, in all good conscience, ride right past this mission on my way to have some fun. Therefore, I'll be riding in Spring Lake. Decman will remain as Ride Captain.

I’ll still be at the Pig Roast, and look forward to meeting up beforehand and riding in together. Depending on the times involved, I might even meet up at the Armory.

I'm going to do my best to be there. I'm just down the road from Spring Lake.
This will be my first mission. What should I bring?

Piney - The biggest American Flag you can find. If you can't find one, just bring a pole. I'll have plenty of extra flags with me.

By the way, welcome aboard.

Hi All.
My name is Donna and I will be attending. This will be my first mission. I don't have a bike, so I will be driving my truck. I will be coming from Forked River, if anyone between forked river and belmar wants a ride, just email me, geenaboo@yahoo.com. I see from reading that I dont really need to bring anything, but, sorry if this is a stupid question...is there any certain dress code? all black, etc?

It's just me...donna

I think I can safely commit to this mission and be at work by 3 pm...

tmevoli, I will be coming down 206 to 295 to 195 then east....on 2 wheels...unless a front is coming thru with Lightning, Hail and Tornados......figure out a good place and time to meet...guessing it will take 45 mins to get to Belmar from Trenton....

...dont want to miss a chance for a last 'thanks' to a WWII vet.....never got to say that
to my Dad.....we owe them big time for that war......

Donna,

Welcome! and thanks for coming out on Saturday.

That's a good question about a dress code.
When folks ride to a mission the dress is dictated by safety
and normal gear for riding.

I would say that as long as it is respectful it will be fine.
I've never heard of anyone complain about our attire.

John, I will be riding down to attend this mission, then back up to the pig roast. My son Jonathan is tentative. His relic Kawasaki is difficult to get parts for. Time for him to get his first Harley. Anyway, Dad ain't made of money...
He'll take his CJ7 to the pig roast if no ride available.

Look forward to seeing you. Cotton

Looks like I'll make this one.  The weather is looking better.  It would be great to meet near 195 along with anyone else.  It will be an honor to attend this mission with the PGR and pay tribute to this American Hero.
