Lots of motels, which state? If you make Mobile, there are good priced motels right close to where we are going to meet up for the run to the staging area. Florida, Alabama and Ga want to ride in as a group. Call and let me know. 334-277-7707. We may have a good soul with a cot and a flop. What about it Ruel and Big Dom?

I definitely plan on making this mission.  I'm in Florida (Marianna area) just off I-10; if anyone's riding through this area, may I join you?  Also, if anyone's coming from farther out & needs a place to stay enroute, I have room (if no one minds a half-finished house).  E-mail's easiest, since I work a weird shift:  oohrah54@msn.com

Most sincere & hearfelt condolences to Sgt. Mills' family, and to his brothers in arms.

Does anyone know if our PGR member TDY at Keesler has found a ride? We're coming from the north and it's a little out of the way, but if need be we may can swing down to pick them up. Not sure what kind of time frame we're on.

CAJUN!!!

I copy on the water....have/had a team working same logistics as I type. I'm out the door in five to check out the ride route. The wife says Ed left a message on the machine but I haven't checked it yet. Will pass on any new info later this evening. I'm hearing that there will not be a service at the funeral home so there should not be a lengthly stop there. If you don't mind, I'll need you to round up this herd and get them pointed straight as soon as possible.

SNAP (god bless you my friend) - counting on you to recon, translate and cordinate with the leathernecks. I haven't seen or heard but I'm sure they'll be there when we arrive.

ALL - weather can't be predicted around here anymore....it's summer. I would try and pack the gortex even though it may be 95 when it does sprinkle. Anybody needing to crash Friday/Saturday or as long as you need...I'll find a place in my humble abode so don't let it be a show-stopper.

I'll stop in shortly .....Greg

I am unable to get out of my on-call duty this weekend so I will not be able to make it down from Memphis.

My thoughts will be with Sgt Mills family and all my brothers and sisters in the PGR making this mission.

Ride safe and Semper Fi. I'm with you all in spirit!

Predicted weather for Gulfport, MS

Saturday: Partly cloudy with isolated thunderstorms possible. High 79F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.

Just in from the initial recon. First, if anybody runs late and misses us at the (I-10 Park & Ride) assembly area....(1300 Hrs) continue due South on hwy 609. Cross bridge, cross hwy 90 and it will be the 3rd light, 2nd 4-way (I hope I didn't mess that up!). Turn Right on Porter Ave, funeral home is on the right.

The last ride will be a fairly long ride from there.......maybe 20-25 minutes? The procession is wheel's up promptly at 1500L.

I'm thinking Ed will be on here any sec....just talked with him and got the latest. Without stealing much more of his thunder, I will say the kids are resting comfortably in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Broken legs seemed to be the worst of it.

Snap - I tried your house phone but it says old folks are sleeping after 2000 hrs. I'll catch you tomorrow.

WOW! Talking about a brother(sister)hood you all bring a smile to my face. Thank you all for your emails of concern and prayers. My son, Jason and his girl, Tammy are doing fine. Both just got out of surgery a little over an hour ago. My son's upper leg had to had a rod inserted but he will be fine in about 12 weeks. Tammy also had a rod insert into her right leg and they also discovered that her knee cap was cracked also. No real concern from the doctor's statement though. SO real good news considering.
On another note due to this unfortunate turn of events I have been able to cancel my plans and will attend SGT Mills' mission this Saturday, as Greg said in an earlier post I would hope that Mississippi will come together in force to show our respect to Sgt. Mills and his family. Let's not be the smallest contingent present. FL, AL, and GA are saying they are coming in force. We have a couple of dedicated individuals coming from Memphis, one from Arkansas and another from Texas. I am hoping that our brothers and sisters from Louisiana will be there also. I look forward (though with a heavy heart) top this mission. All of you ride safe and get here in one piece.

I'm sorry that I'm going to miss this mission. Brothers Snap and Schmidtrock are aware of the reason why but it's still hard not riding with my PGR Brothers and Sisters in support of a Fallen Comrade. My heart goes out to the family and rest that Sgt. Lea R. Mills is standing at the right hand of our Lord watching out over the rest of members of our Armed Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. God's Speed Sergeant Mills and God Bless you, your family, the Armed Forces and the United States of America.

My LadyTrog and I stand ready to ride our big green cage as chase from Jackson to the coast tomorrow and can pull a small trailer for the just-in-case. Anyone needing to haul POLs, etc. can meet up at the Texaco in Florence, MS prior to 0845. We'll need to have it stowed and ready to pull out behind Cajun at 0900.
It will be our first mission but we can always say a prayer to the Cdr upstairs that these will be fewer and farther between.
Rest easy, little brother. Watch over us till we ride together someday.

To all my Brothers and Sisters who attended today's mission, I salute you. This was my first mission, and with prayers, we will not be required to get together again under these heart breaking circumstances. Thank you State-Road Captains for the fine jobs. Hope the Brother who went down after the service is okay including his bike. Know everyone was in a rush to get out of the approaching thunderstorm. Till we meet again...Ride Safe.
Last but not least.
To the Family and loved ones of Lea Mills. I know I'm not speeking alone....It was an HONOR to attend his service. May God bless you now and in the days ahead.
