OK just got off the phone with the funeral director for this mission. They will be leaving from the funeral home to go to the cemetary at 3pm. PGR will leave the staging area (I-10 exit 50 Ocean Springs Park n ride) at 1pm and go to the funeral home to render honors. The funeral home is located on Porter ave, Ocean Springs. This is the second stop sign (4-way stop) after crossing over Hwy 90. Turn right go about two hundred yards and they are on the right. We are to park in the circular drive and will follow behind the hearse to the cemetary.
Once again I'm sorry that I won't be there with you all, but Greg without a doubt will pull off a memoriable mission for this fallen warrior and his family. |

OK, I have not been able to get hold of my Ride Captains down here on the coast but I will have a Ride Captain lined up for this mission by Saturday. The staging area for this mission will be the Ocean Springs Exit 50 (hwy 609). For those coming in from the east this is the second exit for Ocean Springs. For those coming from the west, this is the first exit after the I-10/I-110 interchange. Immediately south of the interstate is a park n ride lot. The contingent will pull out at 1pm sharp and head directly south on 609. After crossing hwy 90 and the railroad tracks the funeral home should be on the right. I will be in touch with the funeral home tomorrow and firm up the details.

DoD Announces Marine Casualties
The Department of Defense announced today the death of two Marines, who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Cpl. Brandon M. Hardy, 25, of Cochranville, Pa.
Sgt. Lea R. Mills, 21, of Brooksville, Fla.
Both Marines died April 28 while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Al Anbar province, Iraq. They were both assigned to 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

| OK don't panic. If you go to mapquest.com and type in WHITE PLAINS, MS it will show you where it is :-) White Plains is located 15 miles north of the HWY 15, I-10, I-110 intersection which is in D'Iberville. White Plains is more of a small community than a town. It is where the family plot is located and Lea had requested that if anything was to happen to him, he wanted to be buried there, this is why it will be our duty to assist. At the moment this is a "WATCH LIST" only. I have been in touch with the CAO who is located at Camp Pendelton in California. This is where Lea's wife is also located. His parents live in the Tampa Bay area and we are waiting more details but the wife has already requested our involvement so this WILL be a mission. Standby for further details as they become available. |

U.S. Marine Sgt. Lea Robert Mills, who spent his summer vacations on the Coast as he grew up, will be buried Saturday in a family plot at the White Plains Cemetery in Woolmarket.
He died Friday while on patrol in Iraq when an anti-tank device exploded. He was 21.
"He very much loved my family on the Mississippi Coast and spent many summers there," said his mother, Delores Parker Mills. "He worked on a charter boat with my big brother, Tom Parker, and went to the stockyards in Lucedale with my daddy, Leamon Parker, and fished at the community pier in Ocean Springs and enjoyed all the wonderful things of the Mississippi Gulf Coast."
He grew up in Masaryktown, Fla., was a 2002 graduate of Hernando High School and married his high school sweetheart. He and his wife, Keesha Mills, lived in Oceanside, Calif.
"They were soulmates," his mother said.
Her son was one of those boys who always dreamed of being in the military, she said.
"Lea was always kind of cocky," she said. "We all loved that about him. He had to be the best. He pushed the hardest to be the best. That was very important to him. Whatever he did, he gave 100 percent so he could be the best at it. He loved the Marine Corps and he loved his Marine buddies tremendously. You can't believe the kids that are calling me from all over. It's just amazing."
Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lea's Prayers and Postage Fund at any Hancock Bank.
"That fund will be for anybody who needs to mail packages to military overseas," his mother said. "It's very expensive to ship things. That's why I wanted to do it this way."
A burial procession will leave Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs at 3 p.m. Saturday for a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. at White Plains Cemetery. A memorial service will be held afterward in Hernando County, Fla.
