This is the final
itinerary for the Patriot Guard Mission to honor Cpl Jason B.
Daniel, 21, Ft.
Worth,
TX who made the ultimate
sacrifice in Iraq. The
Mission is a 'go' and all
contacts have been made.
Services: Friday, May 5th,
2006 at 1000 hours at the
AMEDD Chapel, Fort
Sam
Houston,
San
Antonio,
TX. Internment, with full military honors,
will follow at 1115 hours at the Fort
Sam
Houston
National
Cemetery,
1520 Harry Wurzbach
Road,
San
Antonio,
TX. 78209.
Ride
Captains: Brad “Hawkeye” Pierce
and Bill
Papa. Their contact numbers are 210-391-3151
cell (Hawkeye) and 210-467-9448 home (Bill).
Weather
Report: Hot with clouds and
sun. Lows will be in the 70’s with highs in
the mid 80’s. Dress accordingly with leathers for your
own protection and come prepared with rain gear, just in case. (Note: please read “Special Instructions”
below.)
Bring flag poles and flags
if you have them. Flags mounted on
bikes would be great, but if you have to "cage" it, bring your big flags anyway,
plus any extras that you may have. We will have about 120 of the big flags
and the plan is the same as
the Perez mission. We will have two
vehicles with flags, both will proceed to the chapel we will use the flags from
one vehicle for display at the chapel, half way through the service the second
vehicle with flags will depart with a group of riders to the cemetery. There
they will position themselves to create a corridor for the precession. Let’s remember that when we get to each
of our locations (chapel or cemetery) we secure our rides, get our flags and
assemble to show the proper respect for Jason Daniels and his family. We have enough mission veterans now that
the execution should be second nature.
Staging Site and
Time: From 0800 to 0845 hours
at Stacy’s Sports Bar (1033 Rittiman
Road) parking lot. Located on the north side of
Rittiman
Road, Stacys Sports Bar is 1.3
miles west of I 35 (EXIT 164A) in San
Antonio,
TX.
Departure: All members are
requested to complete the Liability Releases prior to safety briefing. (If you have not submitted a Liability
Release to a Ride Captain on previous Mission, please click on the attached PDF
file, print it, fill it out and turn it into one of the Ride Captains at the
Stage Area). The safety briefing
will begin at 0845 hrs. Departure
(KSU) for the AMEDD Chapel will commence at 0900 hrs. All bikes will present a uniform
appearance with flags flying as we ride approximately 5 miles to the chapel in a
staggered formation.
Special
Instructions: As we will riding onto a
military installation, all riders and co-riders will be required to wear following safety equipment:
helmet, eye protection, full fingered gloves and boots. We will have an MP escort from the gate
to the chapel and an MP escort for the precession from the chapel to the
cemetery. There will be no
precession from the funeral home to the chapel. I will vouch for all riders so there will
be no individual check in for each rider at the gate.
Please
note: We will be riding about
3 miles to the cemetery located just out side
Ft.
Sam Houston after the
service. We have ridden other
missions to this location, so those having previous knowledge of the route will
be asked to assist in the planning.
We will not have any down time between church and cemetery service, so
remain flexible as to mission requirements during the day.
Please remember that our
mission is to honor this fallen soldier and pay our respects to her family.
Stand tall and be proud as we
salute an American hero.
Brad “Hawkeye”
Pierce

I think this is the one that showed on the news here in San Antonio stating that it will be another Ft Sam Houston funeral here in San Antonio, unless things have changed.
But I am standing by to honor another young fallen hero.
May God watch over his family in this time of sorrow. |
