There is a very touching tribute to our fallen hero written by his sister. You will find it on the Any Soldier site. Click the "Where to Send" button and it will take you there. Even in her time of grief, his sister is behind our country, our military, our veterans and believes her brother gave his life to our country so as to ensure our freedom. This is a remarkable family and one I hope we may honor. There is a section where you can make a donation to Any Soldier in Kyle's name, if you care to do so.
We are still trying to make contact. As soon as we know anything it will be posted immediately.

Lynn received an e-mail from the mother of this hero - a most courageous woman and patriot - and the PGR has been invited to attend the services. We do not know yet where the service will be held, or the time, but the date will be Saturday, May 6. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Hills, Covina, CA.
We will know by Tuesday will the service will be held. The family is hoping for a church in Arcadia.

Anyone from Las Vegas planning to make the ride or attend?
If so, when are you planning to leave LV and from where? |

Doug,
I will be going to this one . I think it will work better from our location. I see you posted on Stinky. Can we stage on the 10 in Redlands somewhere? There are others in PAlm Springs that have not posted in addition to Johnny3. More tomorrow after we get the specifics.

I am planning to make this mission my first, as well. I'd like to join you in Redlands. There's a Denny's (North Side) or an IHOP (South Side) near the 10 FRWY and Alabama Exit. Gas nearby.

Unless directed otherwise, I think that this mission is a little closer to me (admitedly not much closer). Let us know where you want us. One or the other, I'll be there.

I received an e-mail from our hero's mom. In her words:
Kyle's service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Arcadia, CA at 3PM, followed by a funeral procession to Forest Lawn Covina Hills, Covina, CA. There will be a military honor guard present for interment.

I'm trying to make contact with the CAO. I should have more information sometime tomorrow. There is a park near the Church we might be able to use as a staging area (Holly Avenue Park). Is there anyone familiar with the area or perhaps close enough to check it out?

RingLord - I'm in the immediate area. I know that there are a couple of parks in the area. But, there is also a mall (Baldwin Ave. and Huntington Dr) just south of the 210 freeway, it's right next to Santa Anita Racetrack and only a couple of blocks away.

Dave,
Thanks! I was looking at Holly Avenue Park because it looks like there are very few intersections between it and the Church so hopefully there's a good parking lot there.
