Its with great sadness in my heart that I announce the passing of Curtis Miller (Miller Time), a fellow Houston SCRC. Curtis was a terrific guy, always with a smile, and always willing to help.
There are few riders that I have seen that can ride as well as Curtis, unfortunately for all of us, he was struck by a vehicle on Saturday night while riding. He passed on the way to the hospital.
My words cannot express the sorrow I fee at the passing of Miller Time, I just dont how, if ever, we will fill the gap that he left.
This is a link to a pictorial that another friend put together.

"I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom." -Abraham Lincoln

K. Am I missing something? That first line bothers me. Why would this veteran of the Marine Corps not be posted in the Confirmed Mission section? Do I have to go back to Viet Nam and die to have my service posted? Explain so I will understand please. Snap

I'm with Snap on this one. Moved to confirmed missions folder. If any one feels I stepped on their toes I apologize, but I felt this thread needed to be in the confirmed mission rides. This is a judgement call on my part and if the higher ups feel otherwise they will act.

Ride Proud and Free Curtis!!
My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends, including the PGR.
It is so painful to lose another brother.
If there is anything we can do for his family let me know.
Do we need to retitle this confirmed mission??
I am with SNAP. When we lose a brother or a sister it should be a confirmed mission. If we need to visit a brother or a sister then that would fall under special mission. It is hard enough to keep up with what goes where and where we need to look to find what is needed by the membership for our missions. IMO any time we need to show respect to a "FALLEN HERO" it should be called a confirmed mission no matter if "in service" or not. I could go on but that should be another thread.
Rest in Peace Curtis! |
