AgainstTheWind,
(I would also like to be early)
Is there an obvious meeting point near Batesville?
Once we have that down, we can adjust our timing when the mission schedule is firmed up.

May I suggest..

I am coordinating this for the Leathernecks MC.  Our needs are simpler than PGR as far as logistics, lodging, number of bikes, etc

Any an all info someone can provide in terms of possible parking/staging/lodging suggestions posted here would be great.

Trying to avoid duplication but makeing sure all needs are felt so this young Marine can be honored .

Leathernecks MC appreciate the support of PGR and are proud to support PGR in their efforts.

We are all in it for one reason, a fallen trooper getting final honors in a dignified manner, the family protected from abuse.

PGR is the expert in support and non violent  neutaralization of outside  influences.

Leathernecks, we try, but  some have picked their teeth with  UG signs  pre PGR

all in the interst of the fallen

from what little I know about Taylor Mill, Ky, great folks, just no space

Please post or forward to me any suggestions you have for parking/staging/routing etc.

there is a real possibility bike may be parked on grass, with soft ground.  If you're gonna use a beer can for a kick stand support, better empty it now.  Piece of wood too.  Just FYI and weather report

thanks
Tom

UPDATE

Thanks to the hard work of a bunch of great people, including The Leathernecks, we have managed to get all preliminary logistics done. An itinerary will be posted here later this morning.

Parking will be a problem. The PD is working very hard to try to come up with a solution. We will not be allowed , nor really want to, park on the available grass areas because of the rain.

I have worked out a plan I believe will work IF we can fiond a Ride Captain. My back up Ride

Big Daddy,

I can do the Ride Captain for Friday night. I'm going to Deer Park this morning for another mission and have time after that. Saturday is out for me, our anniversary. So if you can use me Friday I'm available.

I just wanted to thank everyone who is giving their condolences for my cousion Lance Cpt. Justin Sims, we are very proud of him and appreciate all of the support from everyone.  We are honored that you care enough to come to his funeral.  He was loved by all and loved being a Marine.  He has 4 younger sisters all under the age of 12, so this is a very trying time for them and our family.

Thank you again for all of your prayers, God Bless each one of you.  See you Saturday

UPDATE

I HAVE POSTPONED MY KNEE SURGERY SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY AND WILL BE THE RIDE CAPTAIN FOR THIS MISSION.

I KNOW A LOT OF GOOD PEOPLE HAVE ASSISTED AND ARE STILL ASSISTING ON THE LOGISTICS OF THIS MISSION.

HOWEVER, IF EVERYONE WOULD PLEASE STOP FROM POSTING ANY INFORMATION CONCERNING DIRECTIONS, STAGING AREAS, ETC, WITHOUT FIRST CO-ORDINATING WITH ME IT WILL BE LESS CONFUSING.

I WILL HAVE A COMPLETE ITINERARY POSTED THIS MORNING AS SOON AS THE FINAL PIECES OF INFORMATION COMES IN. THINGS ARE ALWAYS SUBJECT TO CHANGE FROM MINUTE TO MINUTE.

WHEN THE ITINERARY IS POSTED IT WILL PROBABLY BE SHORTLY AFTER TRANSFERRED TO THE TOP OF THIS THREAD. SO BE SURE TO CHECK THERE.

I JUST SPOKE TO THE CAO FOR THE SIMMS FAMILY AND THIS WILL BE A FULL ON MARINE HONORS BURIAL. IT WILL BE AN AWESOME TRIBUTE TO LCPL. SIMMS AND HIS FAMILY.

THE FAMILY HAS REQUESTED US TO BRING FLAGS-FLAGS-FLAGS AND MORE FLAGS TO BE DISPLAYED AT THE FUNERAL HOME AND THE CEMETERY. SO PLEASE BRING THE FULL SIZE 3 X 5 FOOT FLAGS MOUNTED ON POLES. WE WILL HAVE A FEW LONER FLAGS.

THIS SHOULD BE THE LARGEST MISSION WE'VE HAD IN KENTUCKY. LET'S ALL JOIN TOGETHER AND BRING THIS YOUNG WARRIOR HOME WITH HONOR, PRIDE AND DIGNITY HE EARNED AND DESERVES.

I CAN BE CONTACTED AT 1-606-679-1079

To make this as easy as possible we can meet at the McDonalds. Take the exit to Batesville off of I 74. Stay safe after the New Point exit as there is construction and I do not know how it will be Saturday. At the end of the exit turn left. You will see McDonalds on the right. I'll be there and ready to rock at 8:45 and ready to go when everyone arrives.

ALternate Route: Take the New Point exit off of I 74. Turn right and go to the stop sign (S.R. 46). Turn left on State Road 46 and follow it into Batesville. Once past the schools on your left and a gold course on your right turn left at the NEXT LIGHT. This is actually the exit to Batesville off of I 74. Go across the overpass and McDonalds is on the RH side.

Stage for PGR heading I-75 South.......

Let's set a 0815 stage time at the Shell Station at Exit 44 (Rt. 725) on I-75 South. The address for the station is actually 125 Byers Rd. but its right at the bottom of the exit across 725. We will depart promptly at 0830 to head south. That will give us 1 1/2 hours to get there for the 1000 stage time in Kentucky, enough fudge factor for traffic, wrong turn, etc. All are welcome to join in. Would love to see a good representation from this area.....

Mark sounds good Microsoft Streets and Trips says 57.7 miles from Byers to exit 79. I'll be leaving Englewood @ 0745 so if anyone is passing through let me know and we can meet up north.

Just an FYI - According to the Kroger web site and my Streets & Trips, I believe you will find the Winston Ave. Kroger store is about a mile NORTH of I-275 off Exit 79.

Wife and I will be leaving Greenwood, IN area (7AM time frame?) to meet at the Batesville, IN McDonald's.  Anyone wanting to join up in Greenwood let me know, will be straight shot East on Main through Fairland to I-74.  Maps.Google says about 1 1/2 hours to Batesville and about 1 hour to Staging from there, but that's calculated a little slower than the speed limit.  Adjustable to breakfast location!
