Updated 22 June 07 harly69g

 *****************STAND DOWN - CONDOLENCES ONLY*****************

Regretfully, despite concerted efforts by  our RC, our offer to stand for Justin has been turned down.  The family feels there will be ample participation from members of the state and local police departments as well as the USMC honor guard.

While PGR participation is not invited, his services will be public, with visitation on Sunday from 1800-2200 and services at 1000 on Monday at the Freeman Funeral Home in Chapmanville, WV.  Those wishing to attend as regular citizens may do so.

Please keep this thread open until Monday, June 25, for the continued posting of condolences.  Justin's family has been directed to our site to view these.

Thank you, all, for your diligence in monitoring this thread and an extra thank you to Bob Smith for your tireless efforts to honor Justin.
Respects,
Joe

Bob (Treygoose) Smith  is the assigned RC for this possible mission.

Please monitor this thread for updates as this will, no doubt, be a very short notice if/when it becomes confirmed.

As a firefighter/paramedic, I always feel a pang in my heart when I hear of the loss of a fellow emergency worker. This loss is somewhat of a double whammy, because Deputy Thompson served not only as a police officer, but also as a soldier. This is evidence of where this young mans heart was.

Please accept my assurances that your family will be in our thoughts and prayers as you work your way through this tragic loss. We appreciate the life and mission of Deputy Thompson. Stay strong and know that you are not alone.

Deputy Thompson,

Thank you for your willingness, as a military veteran, to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Thank you also, as a member of the law enforcement/EMS family for your commitment to the community to which you served. Your untimely death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, law enforcement/EMS brothers and sisters, all those who appreciate their safety, all who truly appreciate their freedom, and each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders. We are all proud of your service and dedication in that which you believed in and fought for in both the military and your community. Your missions are now complete. You are truly an American hero and the community to whom you served, and the world in which we live are safer places because of your commitment as a community servant and to freedom itself. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect. We pray that you will now rest peacefully in the arms of God. May He provide peace, comfort, and understanding to each life you touched.
