Will be there, where ever Bruce says meet. I think the coffee shop that "badutahboy" is talking about is the Lighthouse (used to be Dave's) on the south sige of 7200 South just west of State. It is an easy right hand turn on to State and south from there.

I too am impressed with all the effort going into support this family in their time of loss and the work that Kelly and Bruce have put into it to make it happen.

Bravo Zulu

Ric,

That's exactly the one I was talking about... big open parking lot, easy right turn onto state or back on to 7200, right off the freeway so it's simple to find.

Kelly (Tinman), myself and any others interested in going down together from the North will be staging / leaving from the Walgreens RX in Layton (Antelope and I-15) at 0930.  We'll stand by for Bruce's staging instructions, but I understand the Hungry Bear is being considered 145 W 7200 S.  Honored to be able to support this fallen hero's family and give honor to his memory!

Well said.

If anyone wants to ride down together I will be leaving the Walgreens pharmacy in Layton, Utah at 09:30 Wednesday morning. Take exit 332 off of I-15 and turn left (if your coming from the North) onto Antelope Drive. Turn right at University Park BLVD (1st light past the interstate). Walgreens will be on your immediate left. I already received permission from the Walgreens Manager for us to meet there. This is real close to the interstate so it SHOULD be easy to get back on.  I'm leaving early so I'm at the staging site prior to everyone's arrival.  If you would rather ride on your own, I put a map in the Mission Itinerary.

Unfortunately, I can't get off of work (I work for TurboTax and it's the end of tax season) so I won't be able to make it. God bless you all.

I'll be leaving from north Orem sometime between 10 and 10:30. Probably closer to 10:30 since it won't take too long to get to 7200 South.

These are the times that try mens souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.

I just checked the weather forcast and it still looks decent for tomorrow (same as on the itinerary). Everyone please ride safely and beware of the other guy. If anyone has extra flags, BRING THEM. You can never have too many flags or too much support. This family has paid the ultimate sacrifice so they deserve everything we can do for them and even more. Thanks in advance to all of you.

If anyone is coming from the North please be careful when you leave I-15 and enter onto I-215. You will have to go from the far left lane to the far right line prior to the first exit which is only about a mile or two. I will see you all in the morning.

My grandson, Jason and I want to thank you for the ride today. Jason was the 10 year old that made 4 trips up and down the line of bikes to get a count (37, by the way). He was treated great by everyone there. He really enjoyed the fellowship, he may not fully understand the reason we were there, but he enjoyed him-self. I am not good with names, but he was befriended by 2 men that need a special note of thanks. The 1st was the gentleman on the blue Gold Wing trike, the other was the tall guy with the spikes on his chrome "skid lid" shorty helmet. Both men were great with him, and he talked about them all night. Sorry I didn't get there names.

If anyone took pictures today, I would appreciate it if you would email them to me so that I can share them with everyone. I was proud of all the people that showed up. I know its not always easy to get off work in the middle of the week especially on such short notice. It was obvious that the Johnson family and friends appreciated us being there. Hopefully we gave Specialist Johnson's son a good memory of a bunch of bikes. Thanks to everyone for allowing that little boy to touch your bikes. He sure seemed happy doing it. As usual you made me very proud to ride with all of you. My hat is also off to Bruce for running this mission. He really came through for us when we needed him. Specialist Johnson left behind a loving family and a lot of friends. Always remember his memory.

Rest in Peace Specialist Ty Johnson.

The tall guy you're talking about is also named mark.... AKA B.T.F. (Big Tall Focker)... As for the goldwing guy, sorry I can't help you with that one.

Kelly,

I have a few pics... a group pic, and a few of the line of bikes. I have not yet previewed them to see how good they are, but post your email addy and I'll get them sent to you tomorrow AM.

Fade,

We were absolutely honored to be there. The two rides I have made with the Patriot Guard stand out as days I will never forget. It is our honor to show our respects for a man who gave his life to protect our freedom. As many others have said, I hope that our presence had an effect on those of you who are family and friends of Ty. It is important for our soldiers families to know that their contributions are not taken lightly, especially in times of crisis.

We are truly sorry for your loss.

To ALL that rode today....THANK YOU! Keep watching this thread for the "Mission Completed" report that will posted soon. The success of this mission was not so much my involvement, but that Kelly picked up the ball and ran with it. The success of this mission was also not so much my involvement, but the fact that all of you were there! To Kelly, Words are not enough to say thanks! To all that rode, Words again are not enough! Just know that I came home with so much gratitude for the opportunity to ride with you, shake your hands, and share with you the respect and honor so fittingly given Spc. Johnson and his family.
