These are the times that try mens souls. The 'summer soldier' and the 'sunshine patriot' will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.

Funeral services for Spec. Ty Johnson will be held in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale, Utah at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2006. Friends may visit with family members one hour prior to service. Interment will be at the Midvale City Cemetery, 450 West 7500 South, immediately following the service.

Thanks for answering my question, Bighorn. So, Rod, is this mission a go (I have to request the time off from work, too)?

If this is a go mission, I will be able to take the time to assist, I only need to know when and where to meet.

Sorry about the delay folks but I'm currently in contact with the family of Ty Johnson and as soon as I find out something you will all be the first to know. I won't know anything until approximately 2300 tonight. Rest assured, its being handled.

As Captain of Utah I need to apologize to all regarding the lack of information on this mission. We have made some changes in the management of this mission. I have assigned Kelly Crouse to assist in this mission. As always he has stepped up to the plate, and is working on it as indicated by his above email. We will STAY on the phone tonight and STAY on top of everything and KEEP all informed. I have also assigned another Ride Captain, a retired Sheriff from that area, Bruce Clements, to assist Kelly. Thank you for your understanding. Craig Larsen - Utah Captain.

I have contacted the family of Specialist Johnson and am awaiting their decision. Bruce "Oldgoldstar" Clements has volunteered his time to scout the area tomorrow so that we are prepared. I will get the information out as early as possible. I understand that a lot of people need to let their boss' know (myself included) so you will all know 5 minutes after I do. Thanks again for everything that you all do.

ALL CONTACTS HAVE BEEN MADE. THIS IS NOW A CONFIRMED MISSION! Bruce "oldgoldstar" Clements has already made an initial ride of the area so the ride itinerary will soon follow. This man gave his all for our country and us so lets show him, his family, and his community all the respect that they deserve.

Sorry Tinman,

Didn't catch our comment on the ride itinerary. Just anxious to show support for this family and recognize the sacrifices made.

If I can make a recommendation...

For a rendesvous point... We could meet at the shopping center on the corner of state st and 7200 so. It's a huge shopping center, but without much traffic in and out of it... There's a coffee shop right there for anyone who wants coffee... Hooters is right across the street for anyone who wanted to grab lunch before meeting...

Most importantly, it's right off of I-15 at the 7200 so exit for anyone who is coming in from out of town and doesn't know the area. It's also only about 1/2 mile from the mortuary.

My time has been cleared. I will be there. Just need time and location. I'm looking forward to being part of this group.
I am impressed with everything I've read so far. I look forward to seeing this in action. Thanks to every-one for saying and doing what I thought should have been done a long time ago. Thanks for letting my voice find friendly ears. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU!!

RePost:
I want to give a very appreciated THANK YOU to Kelly Crouse (Tinman) and Bruce Clements (Oldgoldstar) for taking over in the 11th hour! Kelly is the 'take over' kind of guy in a crisis and Bruce was just made a Ride Captain last night and 'grabbed the ball' like the veteran he is. Most of all I want to thank the family of Spc. Ty John Johnson for allowing us the honor of being part the final tribute to our fallen hero. Our prayers go out to the Johnson family and friends. Thanks to all for their dedication and commitment. Craig, Utah Captain.

Will be there, where ever Bruce says meet. I think the coffee shop that "badutahboy" is talking about is the Lighthouse (used to be Dave's) on the south sige of 7200 South just west of State. It is an easy right hand turn on to State and south from there.

I too am impressed with all the effort going into support this family in their time of loss and the work that Kelly and Bruce have put into it to make it happen.

Bravo Zulu
