"I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom." -Abraham Lincoln

It is my understanding via a short phone conversation with the VA state Captain that his mission is on again. My last conversation with him was he was attempting to pull together all the pieces of the Mission in one post. As many of you may know this can be a little involved. There should me more details shortly.

I am physically out of the area on business this week so Southern Maryland participants will be required to set up your own route to attend. Anyone from Southern Maryland, I would suggest contacting David Byron from Charlotte Hall (His contact info is on page 4 of this thread) and work a route to ride with him. I have been on missions with Dave in the past and he is very aware of what is going on. Good luck, God Bless and Ride Safe.

andhampt,
It's just like Silverback stated... 3x5 ft. If you plan on mounting the flag to your bike to escort with.... you'll need to rig something very sturdy... On numerous escorts, I've seen many flags either not stay up (from the way it was put on their sissy bar) or the metal pole would bend in two from the force of the wind velocity.
Consider this... I used an 18 in pice of PVC pipe, which I strapped with 2 hose clamps to the front of my sissy bar and added a 1/4 inch x 2 inch Wood strip close to the top. Very solid mount, rode up to 45-50 mph with the flag mounted... no worries. Just some ideas for ya |

I purchased a 3 x 5 flag a few weeks ago, but it's not mounted on the bike. I hope that is ok too.
