NOTE: Just a couple more things to add relating to the staging
information. We are staging early because some members of the family,
friends, or guests will be arriving early. We need to stage and be set
up in order to perform part of our duties. Also, because of the close
proximity of our staging area to the Pike Performance Arts Center, we
do not want our members arriving causing any traffic hindrance to those
attending the service of Corporal Antoine McKenzie. Important... There
will be police presence on the property to restrict access to school
property, so you will be required to announce yourself as a Patriot
Guard member in order to gain access to our staging area in the student
parking lot. The staging area is East of 465 off the 71st St. Exit.
Take 71st East 1/4 mi to Zionsville Rd and turn South. Our entrance is
immediately South of the Administration Building on the left-hand side
before you get to the Pike P.A.C. and main campus. A special note that
some of the "old-timers" will want to hear... Facilities will be
available for our use... which simply means... no one has to bring your
own fire hydrant. lol.
Also to those coming from out of town
seeking accommodations, the Clarion Hotel General Manager, Michael K.
Mettert, has given us a most generous rate, but as cowgirl said, you
must mention the Patriot Guard and Pike Performing Arts Center.
Doubling up in rooms may be necessary, but the average room rates in
this vicinity are $109.00 to $149.00. He has approximately 30 rooms he
can make available for our members. Should you happen to call and no
more rooms are available, he has made his staff aware they are to seek
adjoining hotels in the area for you. Check-in time is 3PM. Corporate
Drive, where the hotel is located, will be the first major intersection
you approach after heading E on 71st St. Turn right and the hotel is
immediately on the left. They have a nice area where many members can
sit and enjoy good conversation. Plenty of parking is available.
Indyharley
hit it head-on when he posted that we needed the show of our members in
Shear Numbers! We are 5 days out and these numbers look quite
impressive so far. Keep up the good spreading the message about our
mission. There are many people to thank today for assisting us in the
arranging of these final details. I will have to save that for the
final report. Rottendog93 just made an important post. Traffic during
this time anywhere around Indianapolis is bad. Plan ahead, or maybe
come earlier and have breakfast somewhere. The weather is bound to be
better than what we ran into in the last couple of missions. Take care.

Indianapolis soldier killed in Baghdad By Robert King robert.king@indystar.com
A 25-year-old Army soldier from Indianapolis was killed Tuesday in Iraq, the apparent victim of sniper fire as he manned a machine gun on a Humvee. Spc. Antoine J. McKinzie, a 2000 graduate of Pike High School, was patrolling Baghdad in an armored Humvee, said his stepfather, Dwight Adams. McKinzie is the fifth soldier or Marine with ties to Indianapolis to die in Iraq. McKinzie served in the 27th Field Artillery Regiment in the Army's 4th Infantry Division and was on his second tour of duty in Iraq. He was last home at Christmas and had spoken to his family as recently as Wednesday.
"He felt like he was doing an important job," Adams said. "He was proud to serve his country."
The family was notified of McKinzie's death Tuesday at their Pike Township home.
Details will follow when available.
The Ride Captains will be Cowgirl Outlaw (cowmarine@yahoo.com) and Chief_Investigator (roncoleman_associates@comcast.net)
Sincerely,
Richard Wilbur IN PGR State Captain ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 4 Wheels or 2, Be A Patriot Guard Rider

I saw the server came back up around 12:20 AM last night. I was surprised as all of you were to see that our Mission, along with several others, was missing from the site. I delayed posting to this "Indiana" thread thinking our mission would be restored soon, but it appears that may take some time. I've had many emails, as I'm sure Richard and cowgirl have too, requesting updates on McKenzie. I will respond to all of these personal email requests, but in the interim, here is what I was going to post last night into the Mission forum after returning from Indianapolis:
PRELIMINARY UPDATE ON MCKENZIE MISSION
It looks like the PGR site has been suffering from growing pains. I’ve been down in Indianapolis almost all day trying to gather information on our next mission for Specialist Antoine J. McKenzie of Indianapolis. As those of us from the military have grown well accustomed to in our previous life, we are once again faced with the old “Hurry up and wait” syndrome. Unforeseen delays and circumstances beyond our control have forced this mission to remain on hold for at least a week, maybe a little bit longer. I assure you we are on top of things and will advise our members when further developments and/or details are known. I also want to assure everyone that we have asked to participate in an escort from the airport, or at the least, have a contingent of members standing by to honor and salute the military motorcade as it begins its departure from the airport with Specialist McKenzie. SHOULD we be allowed or permitted to participate in this function in addition to the main mission, you will be advised, but again, it appears this would also not take place for another week or so. It will be important for all members to check the box in this forum so you will receive emails every time someone replies to the thread if you haven’t done so already, or keep checking for updates from time to time. We will keep you up to date on any further developments on this mission. We are sorry for any delays, but sometimes things are just that way. We have to keep the family’s best interests in our hearts and minds. We must also realize that our wait is nothing compared to the wait the immediate family will endure, so please be patient and keep your prayers and replies coming into the family through this Patriot Guard Forum. Let’s show them and the rest of the world that we are the kindest, most patriotic, respectful, patient, and God-loving Americans they have ever seen. Stay vigilante! Thank you all again very, very much.

Thanks Richard for posting this for me. I've been out all afternoon and just stopped in to check on the website and respond to any emails if needed. I'm glad to see the site "appears" to be back to normal. Indyharley, an individual from the PGR website team did send me his email address should we experience further difficulties with the site. I'm sure we won't because this was not an isolated incident and things (the system) seem to now be backed up appropriately. Looks like we get to hit the 20,000 member mark again! Thank you cowgirl, too, for calling me yesterday when I was in Indianapolis. I'm positive that had you not entered your post into the Forum before the site crashed, many additional members would have been clueless in regards to this mission during the outage. I am proud to work with the both of you and all of our Patriot Guard members.

To the folks in Ohio and eastern Indiana,
I'm NW of Columbus and will be going down through Springfield to I70 or down I75 to I70 (depending on any response I may get) So if you are in this area more or less (I checked the tank and if you are off these routes a little bit I have just enough fuel to pick you up and get you home :-) ) If you are a regular or a new member and want to join us for your first mission just e-mail me at jif48@yahoo.com.
I'm picking up Suzy, a fellow member, in Indiana but still have room for two more! If you want to go don't stay home due to lack of wheels!
