To Petty Officer Michael Tutkus, As you deploy in harms way in this Global War on Terrorism, may I offer you this small piece of advice: Cover your 6, cover and take care of your shipmate/river rats in your charge, shoot straight, center mass and lastly.... it's easier to ask for forgiveness that permission.

Kristin, Hang tough and remember, with friends like Stacie "BikerChic" B, we'll all be watching out for you.

PGR,
It'll be a cold one, possibly wet... if you're riding please ensure your bikes are mechancially and safety "good to go" and dress appropriately for the mission.

Regards,

RustPicker

Everyone keep you eyes out for the weather and ride appropriately, do not risk your own safety on your scoots if the weather is bad. Caging is not a bad thing although I don't like it myself, but sometimes you have to weigh the risk factors. See you all on Tuesday.

I will be bringing an extra 3'X5' flag for use by anyone if needed, I just won't have an extra flag pole for it...

I was out at Sunrise Motorcycle on Little Creek Rd today looking for a safety vest so I could get on base Tuesday. While talking with one of the guys in the part dept, I mentioned that I was needing one for the ride and gave him a few details of what we PGRers do to support our military and what we are riding for on Tuesday.

He asked me to hold on for a minute, went in the back room and came back with a safety vest. He tossed it to me and said to keep it for free. I was a bit shocked and thanked him for his kindness. Even though he didnt specifically say it, I'm sure he did this in appreciation for the work we do for our military heros.

Sunrise will be getting my business again on any parts or apparel I may need in the future.

Just thought I'd share.

It looks like Tuesday is to be a rain event with snow at night, dress warm, Carrie and I were out today just to get a feel of what we need to wear. It was frigid. The following are directions from Petty Officer Tutkus 's residence to Little Creek Amphib Base. With the cold rain I think we can all agree the Highway is out of the question.

Exit Apartment complex, left on Battlefield Blvd.
Go down and take left on Kempsville Rd.
Continue on Kempsville....Pass major intersections of Greenbrier Pkwy, Volvo Pkwy, Centerville Tnpk, Indian River Rd, Providence Rd, Princess Ann Rd.
Kempsville will turn into both South and North Witchduck Rd (under 264) again turns into Pembroke Rd.
Turn left on Independence Blvd. ....Pass major intersections of North Hampton Blvd.
Turn left on Shore drive.
Turn in Gate 3.
Take left on Amphibious Drive on Little Creek Base.
Take this all the way to RIVRON Unit 1.
We will be going over the bridge on base near Diamond Springs Rd and Shore drive.
We will exit base at Gate 3, keeping in formation so we don't breach any security for those who do not have any type of Dependant or Active/Retired Identification. Little Creek Base security has given us the support in the past that we need and we need not blow it.

Remember your basic gear SEE ABOVE. I highly recommend the Reflective Vests worn throughout Mission due to the weather. The call will be made to fly flags while riding at the start of our mission due to the weather.

If you feel the weather is too much to ride your scoots and you want to be on this mission, drive your cage. Don't jeopardize yourself to any mission.

Any questions please give me a call on my cell phone 757-375-9628
