FYI, From the SC Thread

All dates should be considered TENTATIVE at this time.

The mission to honor Chief Warrant Officer Jason Garth DeFrenn is now a two part mission.

Patriot Guard Riders will be present on Thursday, 15 February for visitation at Dyches (pronounced DIKES) Funeral Home in Barnwell. Time for visitation has not been announced. We will hold a flag line throughout the visitation so that members of the community will know as they enter that they are about to visit an American Hero.

Patriot Guard Riders will honor Chief DeFrenn at his funeral service on the afternoon of Friday, 16 February in Barnwell and will escort the chief and his family to his final resting place. Prepare for a ride of 16 miles to the cemetery.

Staging areas and times will be announced later.

Ride Captains in Charge will be announced later.

Please do not cease in praying for the DeFrenn family. They need the strength that only prayer can bring.

Tell the people of Barnwell to listen................listen for the rumble of the Patriot Guard.

To the family of Jason Defreen. Jason, I did not know but my children Travis and Tiffany Lancaster knew him. My son in law Tommy Moore, Barnwell, graduated with Jason. Naomi, Garth, Jenny, dear family members and dear friends; our hearts break with and for you. Naomi is in my prayer group at First Baptist, Barnwell. Such a precious Christan sister I wanted to share this with you. Wednesday night as Lynn prayed for all of you something she said really hit home. We know that Jason was willing to risk his life for the freedom of his country and the future of his children, but as we held hands and prayed, I realized in a whole new way that is also why our soldiers do what they do - so that we as Christian people can stand together on American soil, hold hands and pray freely and without fear. We can carry God's word with us and not be in fear of our lives. To Jason, I could never thank you enough for fighting for that freedom for us, for me, your family, dear friends and people you did not even know. Now, that's love.

May the family and friends of Chief Warrent Officer Jason Defrenn find some peace knowing that Jason will always be recognized and honored as a true American Hero.
Ride Captains have been assigned and will be setting up a staging area near Agusta, so the Patriot Guard Riders from Georgia can ride in together to honor our Hero.
Standing by to assist our South Carolina family.....

A person is not judged a Hero by the way he died-rather by the way he lived.

The price of freedom is visible at any Veteran's Hospital.

If you want to salute, or cover your heart with your hand, or just stand silently holding the flag, it's your choice. The only thing I require is that you do it in a respectful manner. I am a combat veteran. I served my country. I led young men and boys face to face in combat with their enemy. I also am a disabled veteran. War related. I have certainly earned the right to salute in a respectful manner but my salute is no more important than any nonveteran standing in our flag line. My love for America and my respect for our fallen warriors is no more or no less important than anyone else that comes to our PGR mission. I have fought for my country and I will continue to fight for the rights of every person that stands in our flag line.

CWO DeFrenn, Thank You. It seems so insufficient...two words. Thank you. You were the ground soldier's best friend. Your skill and the awesome power at your fingertips were surely the salvation for many. You were an Army aviation professional. A CWO in the Profession of Arms. A man with awesome responsibilities. A man who wouldn't quit. A man of honor.

I offer nothing less than my deepest respect and most sincere condolences to your family, your friends and your fellow soldiers. I can't begin to know the pain they feel right now. May God wrap them in His tender mercies and comfort, strengthen and guide them as only He can. May the pain be tempered by the knowledge that CWO Jason DeFrenn will forever be remembered as a true American hero.

On Friday we will come from every direction and assemble into one. The rumble will be low, almost imperceptible at first. It will grow louder. Stronger. Like distant thunder getting closer. The rumble is strong. Steady. Unwavering. Just like America's defenders. The rumble is the voice of the warriors, the soldiers who can't be there in person to honor CWO DeFrenn. It is the voice of Americans who mourn the loss of one of South Carolina's sons. When the thunder rolls in Barnwell, people will know we have lost a Patriot and a Hero. And they will remember. Patriot Guard Riders from all over will be honored to stand for a hero who stood for the things that make America the greatest nation the world has ever known.

Listen for us...we are coming. We're coming because we care.

When you come to the edge of
All the light you know
And are about to step off
Into the darkness of the unknown
Faith is knowing one of two things
will happen:
There will be something solid
to stand on
Or you will be taught how to fly.
In Memory of LtCol Chris Smisson. Aviator and Friend.

Any body riding out of the Charlotte, NC area? If so let's meet up and ride together. I thinking that the Rest Area on I-77 just south of the NC/SC State line worked pretty good the last time. Check here ( http://forums.delphiforums.com/PGRofNC/start ) for more planning info.

See you on the flag line.

Prayers are being offered by so many for your family, and for your hero, CWO DeFrenn. I hope knowing Jason will be remembered always as a courageous and honorable American who was willing to do what so many will not, helps to bring you some peace.
