To the Barnwell Community.............Listen for the Rumble...........the Patriot Guard is rolling.

Updated 1738 cst XLinAL

This is now a CONFIRMED MISSION.

Chief Warrant Officer Jason Garth DeFrenn of the United States Army died on Friday in Iraq, four days before the birth of his son, Christopher.
He served my free America as an Apache helicopter pilot.

Details are incomplete at this time. This mission could occur as early as this weekend. At the time of this writing CWO DeFrenn has not arrived in South Carolina.

In speaking with the Father of this Hero today I told him that it was my hope that one day little Christopher, born on Tuesday will look at photos of his Daddy's funeral service and know that he was a Hero.

I ask that Patriot Guard Riders please help make that hope a reality.

To the DeFrenn family.............you will not stand alone. Chief DeFrenn voluntarily placed himself in harm's way to protect his people. We are his people. We stand with you.

Patriot Guard Riders...........prepare to honor a Hero.

We are working today to establish a Patriot Guard mission to honor Chief DeFrenn.

My heart hurts for what has been lost.  This should be a joyous time.  Chief DeFrenn's wife gave birth on Tuesday afternoon to a baby boy.......Christopher Andrew DeFrenn, 8 pounds 6 ounces.

I cannot imagine the confusion of emotions that has engulfed the DeFrenn family.  The Patriot Guard Riders are not able to assuage this level of grief.  But we can stand to show honor.  We can make it vividly clear that this family is not alone.  We can give America a face and a voice.

Please join me in praying heartfelt prayers for this family.

And Chief, sir, I thank God for men like you who feel they must go away and face enemies that the rest of us cannot comprehend.

Christopher........if you read this someday........I never knew your Daddy but he is now my hero.  Be proud of the name you carry.  It is held in high esteem in South Carolina.

Godspeed Chief.
