Um,, a mix up.... We have 2 missions in the valley... SSgt Leija in Raymondville does not have a date/time yet..The Raymondville itinerary was cross posted in error to Pfc Shipp's thread. My fault,, I didn't specify clearly when sending the seperate details to the moderators.

Below is for TODAY for Pfc Shipp:

Itinerary for accompany PFC Shipp today at 3pm. Gulf Avionics at Harlingen International Airport:

Meet at the gas station at Loop 499 and Grimes Road before 2:30pm. We are expected to be at the hangar on or slightly before 2:30pm Today. I have 3 bikes who will be waiting for the McAllen/Mission folks to come by.
Those coming from Mission who are not with Terence need to take southbound 77 when they come off of 83 .

FROM Hwy 77, take Ed Carey Drive, turning east and continue towards the airport.
Right turn onto Grimes.  1.2 miles down Grimes to Bob Youker.
Left turn onto Youker,,, approx 1 mile to the entrance to Gulf Avionics on the Left.
We will be directed to line up alongside the parking in front of the gate to fall in as the limo's and hearse come through on the way to San Benito funeral home.

Terence will be RC for this part of the mission. His cell # is 956 821 8503

Thank you all of you that showed up for Pfc Shipp's arrival at Harlingen airport.  I was the pilot of the airplane that dropped him off and it was great to see all of you out there.  I wanted to come out when you were in front of the building to say thank you but I decided to stay out of the way.  I have been seeing you all over the country and I want to thank you for being there and showing your support.  God Bless you all and also the Shipp Family.~Tom

Falcon20,

It is YOU that we thank! Despite the VERY emotional mission that you continue to perform, you stay focused and continue to safely deliver the honored dead home to their families and friends. Flight, in and of itself is a dangerous undertaking and you do it regularly and with dedication.

Keep up the good work. I wish you unlimited ceilings and calm skies.

Warp speed!

Any Austin or San Antonio PGRs planning on going down for this mission?  I plan on leaving from Austin sometime on Friday if the service is in fact on Saturday.  I have extra room in the valley if any PGRs need a place to stay.

Thanks,

Pace

I called the San Benito Funeral Home (956) 361-9192) who are in charge of Pfc. Shipp's funeral services. I was told that people are welcomed to visit tomorrow and Friday from 9 am to 9 pm at the funeral home. He also advised me that Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 2 pm at the Marine Military Academy Auditorium in Harlingen. The funeral procession will leave from there after the services to Monte Meta Cemetary in San Benito.

I know asking this question is discouraged but with the mail server down, I thought I would go ahead.

Does anyone have any further info:  Staging location, time etc for the service on Saturday or if Saturday is even the correct day.  I am drving down from the Austin area and would like a little more info before I leave.

Also, if anyone else from Austin, San Antonio is going, give me a call so we can possibly meet up on the way down.

Thanks,

Pace

01 Feb 2007 11:38 PM Alert

Working on a formal itinerary... this is going to be a long day.

Basic plan:

Saturday, 3 Feb 2007...(Edited... I do mean Saturday the 3rd)

*  Begin time for Staging 1030am at Paso Real and Business 77 (Sunshine Strip).
*  KSU for funeral home is 1100. They request we be there at 1115.
*  Leave time from the funeral home is 1145.
(( I will have a formal posting w the name of the restaurant before 930 am Friday. The restaurant is on the left side of the street. Cross traffic is a concern- we may want to cross in managable groups and reform when on the right of way for Southbound Business 77 (Sunshine Strip) ))

*  We will accompany Spc Darrell Shipp from San Benito funeral home to the Marine Military Academy for services inside the Auditorium. The family will arrive approx 1230.

*  Formal service begins at 2pm.

****Public visitation/condolences line will be at the Auditorium. There will be no visiting/condolences at gravesite, per family request.****

*  Accompany Spc Darrell Shipp  post services to Mont Meta Cemetary in San Benito.

Dismiss after burial is concluded. As stated, the family requests privacy at the cemetary- there will be no formal condolences line.
