Roger has been a friend for years and was 150% about wearing the uniform. He lived and breathed it, loved it and was always there whenever I needed something for my troops. He will be GREATLY missed.
Roger, You're watch is done, we take the torch and will continue to uphold the values. Goodbye old friend.

To the family and friends of CSM Haller... We are so sorry for your loss....  It is a very few that attain the rank and respect of the CSM...  He was by all accounts the epitome of our Citizen Soldiers, a loving father, friend and a good man...    His dedication to duty and willingness to lead by his example should be celebrated and admired..  I wish I had the opportunity to meet him...  It will be an honor to ride for him...

My condolences to the family of Command Sgt. Maj. Roger W. Haller. I lost my own son last month, and I know that there are no words that can make it better, but I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. These young men and women who sacrifice their lives for their country deserve our highest honor and respect.

Rest in Peace, Soldier. Mission Complete.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends, and brothers/sisters in arms of CSM Haller.  His service, and ultimate death in a war zone, proves that the National Guard is no longer a group of “Weekend Warriors.”  The National Guard is an organization of professional soldiers who serve in harm’s way, and CSM Haller was a shining example of that professionalism.  He did not back down from the challenge.  And I am sure there are other soldiers alive today because of his efforts to train leaders in the finest traditions of the United States Army.

CSM Haller now rests in peace, his mission on Earth complete.  Our Nation will be forever grateful for his service.

Pegs down in honor of you, Command Sergeant Major Haller.  You will be sorely missed by your family, your friends, and the Guard.

Thank you, is the only thing that those that benifit from a hero's actions can say, as we stand in respect of such great people as CSM Haller. Rejoice in knowing that a hero and patriot has completed his final mission with honor and is preparing to stand watch at the right hand of our LORD and SAVIOR. Remember him as he was, a true American doing what is right for our country and for him. CSM, thank you and your family for the work you did here on earth. You touched many lives and that touch will still be rippling for many years to come. In other words, you made a difference. Though the pain is great for your family, I believe that as a seed appears dead and is planted to bring forth life, so is man. CSM, your spirit will be around for years and you will be looking at us thinking either we did it right or you could have taught us better. I'm not sure if I'm expressing this well but you will be missed.

If any cager is coming from southern Md (western shore) and wouldn't mind a passenger, please let me know. I have the day off and would like to go to show my respect. I prefer to share a ride and gas than try to come up with the money to put gas in my truck.
