*******UPDATE*******
MISSION REPORT FOR SUNDAY 14 JAN 07
Before I go on I would like to say thanks to Chris Brocksmith & Jeff Lockhart for having faith in me do do this mission. Jeff your guidence on the steps to do this mission was invaluable.

When I arrived Sunday Jeff and Don (Flag Support) were there along with 3 Patriot Guard Riders . After a brief discussion with Jeff on logistics for flag placement I went in and met with Rebecca from the funeral home. She had given us a room to warm up in, Hot Chocolate, water, and Coffee. They even had a table "Reserved for Patriot Guard Riders" with our refreshments on it. Next I met with the CACO officer Capt.Witsberger who also was obliging to my needs.
Then I was brought up to meet the parents....When they saw the armband they were so grateful that we were there, and I stated to them if we could be of any service to please let me know.... it was very emotional.

I must give a hats off to my HOG Chapter, Wild Fire who stepped up to help, there were 10 people 6 of these people who were never at a mission before. They spent many hours braving the cold, the wind, and later that evening the rain. So to
Dave Myer,Bill E, Robt L, Steve M, Dennis, Danny & Maryann G, John & Kathy P, & Coleen who was with me to the end you folks are wonderful Americans. Whatever Mother Nature threw at the group they stood strong.

A special thanks goes out to that big Marine who was our Flag man, I am truly honored to stand with you..

As the evening came to a close I went inside to say goodbye and Mr.& Mrs. Swanson both gave me a big hug and went outside and thanked all the PGR people for being there. All the cold, freezing fingers and toes, aching knees and backs....who cares it was all worth it after that.

Big Joe thanks for staying in touch with me and taking Mondays part of the mission.

Once I get the Plaque, I willl deliver it along with the flags to the Swanson's residence.

Wolfman super job on Sunday….And thanks to those in your Hog Chapter who came out.
Not a very nice night by any stretch of the imagination.
Monday was a nice tribute to our hero Sgt.Swanson.
Never have I been so honored to not only stand for a hero, but to be in the presence of so many of the militaries finest. I was truly humbled to be in the company of so many Army Rangers that had come to pay respects to their comrade in arms.
It was a long cold day but I would not have wished to be anywhere else.

Thanks Josh for bringing your Dad out, I’m sure you’ll grow up to be a fine young man, stay in scouting. Don you big Marine you, thanks for coming out on both days, with coffee and your smile. Skip just like the Wounded Hero’s Foundation you’re equally devoted to the PGR and you always prove it at every mission. Big Don you stuck it out as always with camera clicking. DJ once again support from up North. Thanks man your heart is as big as the yearly hope for the Packers. Jeff and Scoot thanks for coming to the church on time.
A few more PGR was all we needed and Jeff you and Scoot we're just that...And I can't remeber who the big guy was that came with you two, but it was great to see him as well.
(Sorry bro I've been on three missions with you and youre not an easy guy to forget, but I'm bad with names.)
Thanks everyone for making this special for our hero and his family..
God Bless you all.

I was unable to be at the service on Monday, but was proud to stand on Sunday with not only my HOG brothers and sisters, but also my PGR family. It was great to see those on their first mission. Sorry the weather was so bad, but it's a minor annoyance compared to the sacrifice of the Swanson family. Wolfman, you did a great job,as those that know you, knew you would. If protocol permits it, I would like to go with you when the plaque arrives. Just let me know. Dave Meyers HogJr
