I have just received a mission confirmation from the Clark family representative, the aunt of the deceased.  She is handling all family arrangements - parents are flying in from their home in Florida.

This mission is for Lance Corporal Christopher Clark, USMC of Escalon, CA.  Graveside services are scheduled for 1300

This is the Itinerary
for the Patriot Guard Mission to honor Lance Cpl. Christopher Clark USMC of Escalon, California, who gave all on 08 January 2007. L/Cpl Clark was involved in a vehicular accident one-month before his deployment to Iraq. He was a member of the 2nd Marine Division and a veteran of one prior deployment.
It is a go; family contact made.

The Services: will be Saturday 13 January 2007, 1300 hrs at
Burwood Cemetary, 28320 E River Rd
Escalon, CA 95320-8603
209-838-2924

Weather: The current weather forecast for 13 January 2007 is cool but sunny. Bring flag poles & flags if you've got them; flags on bikes would be great. If you are not on your bike, all means of transportation are welcome, bring all the extra flags you’ve got.

Departure: The departure time from the staging area to the gravesite is 1130 sharp. It is a straight run on Main St. to River Rd. All bikes will present a uniform appearance as we ride in a staggered formation to and from all locations. Anyone not able to stage should meet at the burial site NLT 1145hrs.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of LCpl Christopher Clark. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Christopher.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ. 2. The American G.I. One died for your soul, the other for your Freedom.

To be so young and taken from his family prematurely, it makes my heart ache. For those who grieve, you are not alone, know that this country grieves with you at the loss of another of her sons. In time to come, peace will be with you. The young warrior has gone on to greener fields and clearer streams.
I will be there for his service to honor his life.

I should be at the Vasco McDonalds around 9:30a. Keep an eye out for the orange bike with the PGR decal on the windscreen. That would be me.

MIssion Report

To all the riders that braved the below freezing weather to get to this mission  "Thank You" and "Well Done" as far as being safe getting there.  There was a total of 17 PGR members that showed up including Arizona, who rode all the way from Santa Rosa to be there.  Riders began gathering at the designated staging point atabout 10:30 as requested loading up on coffee and breakfast while unthawing frozen fingers and toes.  One of those moments you always remember happened to us as we were standing at the staging area talking about the upcoming mission.  A gentleman in a suit drove up and got out and walked over to us and began thanking us for doing what the Patriot Guard does.  After doing this, he identified himself as an uncle of L/Cpl Christopher Clark.  After a short conversation with him we wished him well and told him we would see him at the memorial service.  Shortly after he departed he returned with other family memebes and talked to us again, but this time he wanted to know what he had to do to join the Patriot Guard Riders.  It was refreshing to know, that in times like these the Patriot Guard also provides an outlet for the healing process to take place.

The memorial service took place in a beautiful little cemetary several miles outside of the City of Escalon.  We arrived at the cemetary at about 1215 and established our flagline right away.  While waiting, we were treated by our special Patriot Guard Rider "Songbird" to his rendition of "God Bless American," which caused more than a few eyes to water as we were standing there on this solemn day awaiting the arrival of an American  Marine hero whose life ended far too soon.   As usual the Marine Corp Honor Guard Detail was magnificant in carrying out their responsibiliies.  I do believe that if ever there was an opportunity for a family to find comfort in knowing that people cared about their son, they did on that day.
May God bless the family of L/Cpl Clark !!!
