Mission Complete:
To the 15 bikes and 4 cages that attended todays mission I extend my personal thanks to each and every one of you. Once again the weather could not stop our members from paying tribute to a Veteran deserving of recognition for his service. The temperature dropped rapidly during the mission and I hope no one got frostbite on the way home.
Flags were flying in every possible entrance point to Zeller's Chapel of the Roses and the staff there was extremely helpful to the Patriot Guard Riders, even allowing us to park in the covered area usually reserved for Coaches. Special thanks to Dennis, a true professional. Pipey piped till the cows came home, no small feat in the biting cold with bare hands. Thanks again Pipey, you are an inspiration to us all, and thanks to Sst. Bam, for several things including the hot coffee and taking my post when needed.
The guests attending todays service were mostly people I had worked with and known for many years and I considered it an honor to point at all of you and say "I brought my friends". They were, I believe, highly appreciative of our contribution to the services, and the family specifically thanked the Patriot Guard Riders during the services inside. A friend of Jerry's, Peter Charleston, gave a beautiful eulogy and I admired his public speaking skills.
To Jerry Jones I say my usual to a Marine:

Chonga, I missed the biker guys walkway and I feel very sad about that.

I had to sit down, have a cup of tea, at 1:30 when the funeral was 2:30.

I couldn't function well because of what I was getting ready for I guess.

I talked to My stepson on the phone en route and he said everyone would wait for me.

I wanted to walk through that "walkway for my husband" . I am sorry I couldn't get there on time and want to thank "The Piper "and all of you very very much.

Thank you

Jags,
I too am sorry you missed the display of patriotism for Jerry. I did not know you were not inside yet until after I had dismissed my riders.  On the bright side Ed took many pictures and you will be able to view those at your leisure. We were proud to stand for Jerry and we all wish you a speedy recovery from this heartbreak. Time does heal all wounds.

They should have told you I was not here yet but on my way. I felt left out in a few ways of my husband's funeral.

One the picture that was supposed to be the Lobby pic of my husband and I not being displayed until I got there etc...

My own weaknesses that didn't have my husband's funeral perfect.

Idid my best and got there period.

I missed a great part! The rest was counting on that. The rest was flat except for the "Honors"

I felt like they were talking about someone else and leaving out who he really was in the rest of it. I thought I would NOT definitely have a canned funeral for my husband, but having people talk about him mostly before I met him 25+ years ago and not interested in that section of his life so much after he met me was worse than having a stranger talk almost.

It was so humbling and personally rewarding to stand in honor of this Marine and his family. I want to wish our PGR brother "chonga" and to "jags" my deepest sympathy...." When Father God calls us to attention in Heaven, we shall hear.."All pain and suffering has ended, Well done good and faithful servants". These missions have given me the opportunity to serve those who have been serving me, My time is "nothing" compaired to these men that have given me "all" of their time. Im so proud to be an American!!!

Jags,
So sorry for your loss and to hear that you missed the flag line. Please know that had we known you hadn't arrived, we definately would have remained for your arrival. It was an honor to stand the flag line and pay our respects for your dear husband. It sounds like you have many fond memories of your years together - may they comfort you, and bring you peace and strength as you face the days ahead. OUr thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thank you Mr. Jones for your service, rest easy.

Jags,

I am so sorry!! Deeply sorry for you loss and pray that you are finding some comfort. It was truly an honor to have been in the flag line for Jerome. I am also sorry that you missed the flag line. If only we knew!!!

I am not very good with words and so I do not post often. But, I really want you to know that I am sorry about not being there for YOU! Actually, I am feeling really bad about it. I am going to go now as I am totally at a loss of words. Also, I have not found the spell check on this and do not want to make to much of a mess.

Sending you a big PGR Hug!

Thank you Thank you and your words are comfort. I do believe that if you knew I was on my way you would have waited for me especially since many of you came a long way to get there.

Nobody knew my husband, nobody, better than I do and I don't think he would have been pleased at all with how some things were carried out.

I do know that he would be very proud to be honored by your group and thank you very much for doing that and again for your heartfelt words.
