03 Dec 2006 7:31 PM Alert
Richard,

My name is Kevin Pruitt, "DRAGONSTAIL". My father died this past Nov. 18,06 in Bloomington. He was a decorated WWII veteran. 5thAF 43bg 64 sqdrn. He was the radio operator and right waist gunner on a B-24J, "The Dragon and His Tail". He was the last of the Dragons crew to pass. He was also the service officer at the local Legion post 18 for several years. His remain have been cremated and a memorial service is to be held Dec 14,06 at the Legion post in Bloomington at 2:00 P M. I would like to know what it might take to have PGR escort my mother, sister, and possibly my brother from the house to the Legion on the 14th.
Thank you
Kevin

Sargntmoon will be the Ride Captain on this.

I'm honored to be the ride captain for this mission. Two men very close to me were WWII vets, One Army decorated hero, the other a Navy decorated hero who went through his ship being sunk, so this mission is very close to my heart. Any opportunity to honor these men should be captured and held close. It's because of them that we have the freedoms that we enjoy today! May God bless them and keep them close. Semper Fi Sarge

Basic Information for Pruitt mission:

Date - Dec 14, 2006

Staging time 12:30 pm

Place - I'll post tomorrow night.

Kick Stands Up 1 PM

The Pruitt home is aproxiamtely 4 miles from where we' will stage. Thier home is about 4 miles from the legion. I'm asking all cagers, I'm hoping for at least 6 to 10, to leave staging and go to the Legion and post a flag detail for when the family arrives. If we have enough for flag datail the bikes will go to the house to escort Mrs. Pruitt to the Legion. Kevin Pruitt, Emil's son, and Kevins son, both from Florida, will be riding with us to the Legion leading the escort. Kevin is a PGR member from Florida.

I know it's during the week and it's gonna be cold, but if you can make this one, please do it. We have a WWII decorated hero and a fellow PGR members father here. Thanks for all you do!!

I just want to thank all those that are going to the Pruitt mission tomorrow, in person and in spirit! VA Rider and I will be hooking up at noon at a little gas station north of Martinsville, A Marathon station on 37. We'd be proud to hook up with any others where ever you like or your welcome to join us at the Marathon. I have spoken with the family numerous times over the last week and I can tell you that they are so overwhelmed that we are escorting them. Too many people out there feel that our vets are forgotten, that their sacrifices don't mean anything anymore to the public. Well, we're showing them that it's not true! The sacrifices that they made back then is as relevant today as the sacrifices that our men and women are making today in this war on terror. I'm so proud to be able to assist in restoring their faith in America and to join you all in honoring this hero. Semper Fi, Sarge

Maverick,

I was planing 67 - 39 - 37. Mooresville may be possible, or along 39 at one of the gas stations. I am asking SgtMoon where the Marathan is. May meet there.

Moon,

Where exactly is the Marathon you are talking about?

We are Leaving Indy at 1100 from the West Side.
