Mentioned in the first itinerary, please bring extra flags.  There will be many of Charlie friends and others who may want to stand with us.

Mission Update, #2.  1500 hrs 16 November 2006

Date:   17 November 2006
Times:
  1130 - 1300 (visitation), 1300 (services), TBA (burial)
             1200 - 1215 (staging), 1215-1220 (kickstands UP)
Location:  Lanham-Smith Funeral Home, Sparta, WI
Burial:  Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta, WI

* Staging:  A & W stand at State Hwy #16 and Water Street., Sparta, WI.  LEO will block access to Water Street from Hwy #16 promptly at 1215 hrs.  LEO will provide traffic control at the lone stop & go light in the downtown district.  On all other cross-street intersections we will have the right-of-way.  LEO will also provide traffic control at the intersection of State Hwy #21 and Water Street as the procession goes to the cemetery.

* Road Guards:  N/A -  LEO will provide all necessary traffic control.

* Parking:  there's a small Municipal Parking Lot just before reaching the STOP sign on the north end of Water street.  A bank is located there on the corner, diagonally across from the funeral home.  This (the Municipal Lot) was recommended by LEO.  Other nearby parking should be available too.

* Cemetery advance party:  John Curran has this honor.  Thanks, John, for volunteering.

* Visitation:  Family will be very appreciative of anyone who visits with them before the service.  In fact, they really need the hugs and smiles and all the support we can give 'em.  I suggest that those in cages go directly to the funeral home and skip the A&W staging time (1200-1215 hrs).

Those on bikes can do visitation before our staging time, or pull out of the flag line a few at a time.  We expect 20 - 30 local riders as well.  They'll gladly join our flag line and/or fill in for anyone who needs a break.

* Cemetery procession:  I'll coordinate this with the Funeral Director and deliver THE "plan" in person after services have begun.

Sadly I will be unable to attend as I have to work.

I WILL be there in spirit as this family needs all the support we can give.

Godspeed SFC Beeler. I hope your pain is finally over and I
thank you for your service. We will never forget.

Mission Updates, final edition

1.  First, a correction:  the funeral home is Lanham-MILLER.  My mistake.

2.  For anyone trailering a bike:  a good place to drop your cage and trailer would be the Wal Mart on State Hwy #16.  It's approximately 3/4 mile WEST of the staging site (A & W Rootbeer stand).

Note:
Exit from the Wal Mart parking lot via the Wal Mart drive, NOT the All American Do-It-Best Center drive to enter onto S. Hwy #16.   Two reasons for this caution:  (1) most bikes won't trip the stop light sensor, and (2) speed bumps combined with possible congestion going through the DIB parking lot.

Ride warm, Ride safe, c'ya tomorrow.  (forecast:  mostly cloudy, 44 deg F)

Those of us who have never 'been there,' will never know the personal demons many face after having served.

May the Lord be with the family and friends of SFC Beeler during this difficult time.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord... Psalms 33:12 ESV

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7 ESV

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G.I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom

I was able to get over to Sparta to pay my respects. I was humbled that his family, comrades in arms, friends and the PGR permitted me to play a small role on this solemn day. Godspeed to all! CPW
