CHANGE IN STAGING LOCATION

It was brought to my attention that the city of Hamilton is having its annual Santa Claus Parade down High Street on Saturday. Our original staging location was on the parade route and its quite possible we would not hae been able to get in or out of staging. The new location is as follows:

McDonald's Restaraunt
1771 South Erie Highway
Hamilton, OH 45011

South Erie Highway is State Route 4. The McD's is about 1/2 mile south of the junction of SR 4 and SR 129. This is NOT on Bypass SR 4. A map showing the new staging location is included below.

See You Saturday!

Homecoming Mission for Injured Marine - SSgt Damion Jacobs of Hamilton, OH Saturday Nov 18

SSgt Damion Jacobs of Hamilton, OH lost his right leg to an IED in Iraq in February. He has been undergoing extensive rehabilitation with the intention of continuing his career in the USMC. He is coming home late Friday night and his friends and family have invited us to come to the party they are holding on Saturday in his honor.

His display of personal courage and dedication to the defense of this country is an inspiration, I hope the PGR will put forth a maximum effort to come out and welcome him home. Damion has certainly earned our respect and thanks.

Mission details are as follows.

Ride Captain - Russ Sears
Staging Location - McDonalds Restraunt at the SE Corner of North Martin Luther King Blvd and High Street

Staging Time - 1245 to-1315
Mission Brief - 1315
Kick Stands Up - 1320

From staging, we will be riding to the Lodge at the Hamilton Veterans Park to line the entrance to the Lodge with our flags by 1345. SSgt Jacobs is expected to arrive between 1400 and 1415. We are invited to stay for the party and to meet SSgt Jacobs and his friends and family. It may be a little cold Saturday, so don't hesitate to bring a car if neccesary. Being there is much more important than how you get there!

I look forward to seeing you Saturday!

This link is to a story on the "extreme" rehab program the DoD is using for some of our wounded Soilders, Sailors, and Marines. If you read the story , it mentions SSgt Jacobs and there is a photo of him hang-gliding in the photo gallery that accompanies the story.

Any info on how long this will last Saturday? We have another detail that day and are an hour away. If we could make it we would be there late.

Also for tkief - The welcome home party is scheduled for 1400 to 1800. If you guys want to come over later, I think you'd be very welcomed by the SSgt's friends and family. Personally, I don't plan to stay for the whole thing, but if you intend to come later, I'll let them know so they expect you
