10 Nov 2006 3:05 PM Alert

Ron “Fidel” Julian One of our own has passed away.  I have known Fidel and lilboss for many years first with Run for the Wall and then the PGR. I for one am very distraught with the passing of another brother from our ranks. I would like to extend my condolence to lilboss and let her know that if there is anything we can do to please ask. Here is an e-mail she has sent me.

Fidel was attending a seminar in Thornton area over the weekend. I last spoke to him late Sunday night, when he called during a break. He sounded like he has having a wonderful time, and was excited about the information he was getting. The session ended around midnight, and he went to his motel. He was found in bed with his ventilator running, but not connected to his trach. (He was on full-blown respiratory life support when he slept, due to failed respiratory drive). He was found around 1:00 in the afternoon.

PGR members in Oklahoma and New Mexico have expressed interest in making this a Mission. I have not asked my children, but I am sure they would be honored. A couple friends from the community also showed an interest in PGR involvement. I have not been to the board yet, but I know this has been a busy time.

We have decided to have a memorial service on Saturday, Nov 18 at 11:00 am. It will be in Aguilar (exit 34, I 25). The exact location to be determined. Kay

Kay, you have my most heartfelt condolences and know that you are in my prayers. I'm so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. May God bring you the strength and comfort you need in this difficult time.

I need to personally stand down for this mission. November 18th has been spoken for, for me. My thoughts will be with you and all who attend.

The loss of brothers and sisters is difficult to take, though I new of him and ratchet but sadley cannot place the faces well enough. I shall pray for peace for the families and friends. I have read this last week of too many lost family members. Stand fast in the knowledge of that they are in Gods hands and free from the earthy woes and problems that we all face. Rest in peace Fidel and Ratchet!

lilboss, my little sister what can I say to make things better? You and Fidel have been there for anyone who ever needed a shoulder to cry on or moral support. Your family has always been wherever you are needed. Now, my little sister, it is time for us to be there for you. Boobles and I send our deepest condolences and our prayers are with Fidel. My Brother, Fidel, we will ride together again at a better place. I will be thinking of you both when I ride and...... I ride a lot. Love you my BROTHER and Lilboss.

I only had the pleasure of meeting Fidel once, but I now find myself wishing I had spent more time to get to know him. Lilboss, I will unfortunately not be able to make it to CO next weekend for the funeral, but please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. From the looks of it, your PGR brothers and sisters will be there in force to help you through this difficult time. God's speed Fidel, your work on Earth is done.
