Do you know how many people's lives you've effected or how many people have effected your life? Have you taken the time to say thanx? Last Fri I left the Marine Corps on terminal leave. Sat, friends and family joined me in a little celebration. Leading up to Sat I was uncertain how many, if any folks would be able to attend. Invites were sent months in advance with very little response. What a surprise to see folks from all over this great nation in attendance. I, personally did not think I effected so many in such a short time until Sat when I had the opportunity to sit with each and everyone and talk. There was a young Marine there who, incidentaly, recently went on terminal leave. This Marine I hadn't seen in almost 10 yrs. He returned from Iraq with a severe case of PTSD. As I spent most of the night talking with him and re-assuring him that his decision to retire was the right one I began to think about how he and all these people effected my life. For those that have spent a few yrs in the service you'll relate. I grow up as an Army brat then spent the next 25 yrs in the Corps. I learned early not to make friends as they will not be there long. I reflect on what was told to me about friends from a dear friend of mine living in CA (and attended this event); friends you can count on one hand everyone else is an aquaintance. A took the time to thank each person who attended. I'm taking the time tonight to thank the PGR family. In a different post I mentioned that the PGR is helping so many come to grips with the past. The PGR has helped me do the same. As I move on into another career I hope that I can retain the lessons learned not only from my last life but from the friends and family of the PGR... Thanx guys and gals for all you do to help those that need and thanx for listening.

Hey Tim....Break out the toes for your Ga Friends.....

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish motives, ....Be kind anyways.

Hey Tim, LEAVE the boots on. I am sure we can find more fingers for you to count on.

But I am thinking with all the new friends you have gained with the PGR you really should breakout the calculator.

Don't forget friends in the panhandle.

There's not enough fingers or toes for the friends that you've made just in the last few weeks.  Well just get you an abacus to count on it'll be easier.

Welcome Home,  Welcome to the family,

Kool

I think we're missing the point of the posting. I was looking to create an awareness of the friends that you have. Take the time to call them, meet up with them and say thanx for all they do for you. It's a good feeling to know that someone, somewhere not only calls you friend but acts like one too. Thanx Friends!
